Sounds like you are making great progress with the kits Sasha! Looking forward to hearing the reviews on the kits as people install them.

Any updates on the canned tune from Vince? Is it going to be based on James' tune?

I had a talk with Vince this morning about this...and the best way to get a true kit specific map is to have a car on his dyno, so he can build the map from scratch.

This would mean proper adjustments made in the proper tuning tables. I know one of the guys that purchased the kit will be going down there (from Ontario) in the spring for a tune, and that would be the perfect opportunity for this.

The last kit was supposed to go to Vince, so he can install it on a customer’s car and build the map. Looks like the customer decided to wait a bit longer, so that plan has foiled.

Does this mean the 6th kit is available again?

I guess it is. However, I am now focused on completing the 5 kits that I have deposits for. After that, I have to build two kits for the 350z's since I have two deposits for that. Then, once those are done I can finish the last kit for the 370z.

Tonight I need to weld in the BOV flanges and the IC piping is then 100% complete. Should have everything done this week.

So, things are looking good.

I hope my "extra options" don't throw you off. ;)

Not at all. Your stuff has been set a side for the extra details...I am on top of it.

I wasn't worried about that, we all know you're very organized! I just didn't want to mess up your assembly line ;)

Nobody can mess with my assembly line. When I start packaging, the shop is locked so not even my wife is allowed in, no matter what the reason is :)

3/5 kits are standard kit packages, your and another customers kit have some extra details/parts to them.

rustytrombone 12-11-2012 08:45 PM

Boy oh boy I really want this for my G37S 6MT Sedan to make an insane sleeper. I also live only a little over an hour from R/T Tuning. As a former DSM'er, the thought of boost is overwhelmingly tempting.

Don't worry you aren't the only one with add ons/modifications! He is so easy to work with!

m3chhawk 12-11-2012 09:33 PM

Alright, I'll bite... What are you two having done?

The Dimer 12-11-2012 10:00 PM

Yeah, secrets sick when I'm not in on them. :p

Why wasn't I offered this kit!

SS_Firehawk 12-12-2012 10:26 AM

Sounds like we are replacing the Sun as the primary source of energy for the entire solar system... Looks like it can pull Mars close enough to become our second Moon. Haha

Dammit Sasha! I thought I could trust you to keep this under wraps!

Lol....my modifications are just to the oiling system - nothing exotic or to create more power - sorry to disappoint anyone!

Boosted Performance 12-14-2012 04:17 PM

Today I am finishing up all the exhaust components, welding the waste gate flanges on and checking things for the last time...

The last check is to see if everything fits together as intended, so that all the flanges line up just right:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...5519062955.jpg

This is done with each "set" of pipes. Althout each pipe is interchangeable I still number them and the go out together as a set. This will be completed by the end of today if all goes smoothly of course. Tomorrow morning I will weld the BOV flanges to the IC pipe, and that will mean that all the fabrication is complete.

After the BOV flanges are done, I will proceed to the oil lines. Those will take a few hours but should also be done tomorrow. Sunday I hope to pack up the first kit, so that I have an accurate weight/size of the package(s).

The turbos, BOV's and waste gates will be shipped out next week from my supplier (Dynosty in Lousiville, KY). You all (that have sent deposits) should have the fuel pump, FMIC and UpRev by now. If not please let me know.

elperuano 12-14-2012 04:38 PM

Great work Sasha, this looks awesome. If I didnt already have a turbo kit id definitely buy this kit

wheee! 12-14-2012 04:44 PM

.... I'm not going turbo anytime soon, but.... I think I'd like it just to hang as art in the garage! Great work Sasha!

Boosted Performance 12-14-2012 08:12 PM

Thanks.

Should also mention that a set of R35 GTR NGK spark plugs will come with the turbo, w/g and BOV.

ENT-Z 12-14-2012 09:10 PM

Hey Sasha - I have the scavenge pump but not the fuel pump - did you get those two mixed up or am I really missing something? I have the FMIC as well. (No Uprev because I already have a tune).

My fuel pump was shipped in the FMIC box.

Guess I better go dig in that box again but as I recall it was a fairly tight fit with the FMIC in there/styrofoam...

Yeah, it was kind of hidden in there.

Yes, you all should have the scavenge pumps as well as the fuel pump. Please let me know if you are missing the fuel pump, and I will make sure one goes out with your kit.

Some people like it shiny, and with two BOV's (white gloves needed for the install):

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...C/IMG_7967.jpg

Standard charge pipes looking great as well. This is a wrinkle finish, so there won't be any visible finger prints on the pipes after the install:

Side by side;

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...C/IMG_7960.jpg

It was a long day today, and I just have the oil lines left. Just did not have enough time for that today. Tomorrow is another day though...

GaleForce 12-15-2012 10:22 PM

They look great Sasha!

Cost for getting that wrinkle finish?

That is the standard finish. Polishing is the option, as well as the second BOV in the engine bay (vs. one on the FMIC inlet pipe).

GaleForce 12-15-2012 10:29 PM

White gloves are included right? :bowrofl:

jofro6 12-16-2012 12:47 AM

are there benefits to the 2 bovs inside opposed to the single on the fmic?

No. Actually I think the single further away from the MAF sensors has a slight advantage (besides a more simple installation).

ENT-Z 12-16-2012 09:42 AM

Wow this is looking great Sasha. I think that wrinkle finish is very nice!

Thanks, and yes I am a big fan of that finish. I have had it on my car charge pipes and it looks today as it did on day one. Prior to that it was polished, but you have to re polish every season (and it is only driven 6 month). I got tired of that...so a permanent solution was needed.

Boosted Performance 12-16-2012 02:47 PM

So how do you make the simplest forced induction kit on the market even simple/easier to install?

Spend some extra time with a sharpie:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...5687638415.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...5687941616.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...5690362225.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...5690381553.jpg

I have been doing this on all the kits, it is free (no fancy lables, since it will be removed anyway) but works very well and all the customers really like it. I do the same with the oil lines...:). It is not possible to screw it up.

I like the stealth look of the black wrinkle paint Sasha.
That's what I did for the IC piping on my '82 ZXT and it almost looks factory.
I wasn't sure if you were going with gloss black or not..

Your wrinkle paint jobs look perfect!
