It was nice meeting you too, your doing your build the right way, no short cuts. You will not regret it.

Ron 12-04-2011 12:17 PM

Nice meeting you too man. Sorry I left early, little sis was bored and hungry lol. I was gonna say bye but everybody disappeared haha. Not sure on what meth kit, aquamist with direct port inj? I want to get everything set up and the car running before I decide if I REALLY need it. I've got loooots of reading to do on this topic before buying a kit.

Right now I'm just going over all the parts and reading the GTM installation manual to see what other things need to be done so I that they can be tackled all at once. I'm trying to avoid any delays at the shop bc of a missing/incorrect part. If any of you guys have any recommendation of what else YOU would do, please share :D

Also I realized Sat at the meet (after a supra flew by me) that my car is not loud obnoxious enough and its gonna get quieter with the turbos so I am thinking about removing the resonators :p

theDreamer 12-04-2011 12:21 PM

Ron, do you HFC or RTP or something?
With those 3" downpipes it will really open the system up nicely, your lists looks pretty solid. You will end up thinking something new/different once things start going on the car, but that is part of the never ending build. :p

Ron 12-04-2011 12:26 PM

Haha I'm sure I will.. damn mod bug. Nop, stock cats and 18'' FI exhaust. So its quite. I'm not gonna cut anything until after everything is installed. But yeah, ur right, replacing cats with downpipes should open it up.

I have the Berk exhaust on mine and I also have the downpipes. Before TT with HFC's it had the perfect exhaust note. Now it is a bit quiet. But the BOV's and spooling turbos make up for that.

I have toyed with the idea of removing the resonators as well. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts if you do remove the resonators on yours.

Ron, super jealous! good luck with the build. i like all the parts you picked, and im happy you are local. be nice to see this beast when its all wrapped up.

I won't agree with you here:

Maybe you aren't aware, but this will maximize the noise on this by running open dumps. This car is going to get to max boost VERY quickly, and every time it does it is going to go 'BLAAAAATTTTT!!!', annoying everyone.

Obviously mine, with internally rerouted returns, isn't showing any loss of power. :tiphat:

I'm showing my age. Stealth is cool. ;)

He's not talking about IWG. He's talking about EWG with open dumps versus recirculation. Get your info right.

JB-370z 12-06-2011 06:47 PM

I am coming to steal it! That way I can have Quad turbos ;)

JB-370z 12-06-2011 06:51 PM

You need to swing by Baker and check out some of the projects they got going. They have done tons of GTR's lately and have about 5 GTR's lined up for new Greddy Turbos. My 240sx is there now about to get a s14 make over and many many more goodies.

You need to take a spin in Brads 370z. Built block, stage 2 gtm tt and down pipes etc. You will love.

So no time to build mine?

theDreamer 12-06-2011 09:38 PM

It all depends on what phase each car is at, they fit cars in but it might not be a week turn around.

I can help provide a 'guarantee' delivery service which will stop any issues or theft during shipment. For a low single payment of $999.99

Look on the bright side. My build is happening now, but I won't see it for another 6-7 months or so.............:ugh2:

Time goes by pretty quickly... a word of advise.. if anybody is serious about going FI DO NOT waste your time and money on minor mods. Intakes, headers, HFCs even CBEs if they're not the right diameter they will just be a waste (looking at a 3in system myslef)...anything that will be gone once the TT/SC is installed. Every penny counts so try to fight the mod bug as best you can hehe

So you are keeping the TDX with your TT build?

Ron 12-09-2011 12:24 PM

For now yes, I am already looking at a 3in system if I can't get past 470rwhp with the 2.5.

roplusbee 12-09-2011 12:32 PM

Sounds good. I have 2 exhausts in mind. My first choice is a 3" TDX and the alternate is the Greddy TiC (2.75in). Leaning heavily toward the TDX..........

This 100%, I know a lot of people want to do some NA stuff and then jump to FI but honestly a lot of item for NA builds do not carry over and you will not make any money back.

Ron 12-09-2011 12:41 PM

^ yep
