now onto the tuning. the tuner is not at all happy with what he is seeing
not under load he is seeing that the maf's are both reading different voltages they are off by as much as .5v
and its driving the computer crazy on the fuel map side
he said there is a few things he can try but the placement of the mafs are not good
or it could be a leak at the bpv he is just getting started
also uprev is the software being used and its not letting him adj. each maf but doing more of an average of the 2

he told me that if he cant get the fuel mapping the way he wants then we need to look at other options he has been using uprev for over 4yrs

i told him cool if its not the way he wants then i will leave the car untuned pull the stillen kit and go with a turbo kit top of next year ( i dont drive my car much since i have a backup)

best thing is the tuner is looking at it as a challenge lol. so i guess thats kinda good maybe he can get it running right
any ways i think i told the guy like 20 times i just cant do another blown motor lol

I hope everything works out for you I have always heard good things about Hills Garage from the 350z forum. The location of the Maf's and the car not being able to read a true IAT is what lead me to dump the kit. You have a built motor like me now go turbo Boosted Performance did say special incentive for a built motor with his kit.

You also have GTM.

Pretty sure that was the culprit of my motor as well since it ran with different MAF readings for 4 months.

Nice to see you got the car back, An is being tuned, I FINALLY pick mine up last night at the dealer and babbied it home. Tune is on for Tuesday, Look like we are racing again to the 500WHP mark, LOL , Good luck man, I have also heard very very good things about Hill's. You Did upgrade the MAF's correct,

Nissan370 10-05-2012 07:45 PM

so got a call from frank today and they got the car tuned he said i will need to upgrade the fuel system if i want to get more power out of her but as she sits i am looking at around 435rwhp/340rwtq and that is with out the meth injection i will post the dyno sheet once i pick the car up saturday

i was thinking i had 650cc injectors i only have the 600cc injectors
and the walbro 255 pump not sure how much fuel that is good for but frank said a relay and larger gauge wires could help the pump out some

he also said if i keep the kit he has a few ideas about moving the maf's around

so far i am happy about were the car is finally some good news

this clip was from thursday when they started the tune

That's great news, man! I'm glad they were able to get you situated. When you had the motor built, did you drop the compression down from the stock 11:1?

Nissan370 10-06-2012 03:50 PM

yea the compression was dropped from 11 to 9
ok got the dyno sheet in hand and the numbers are 436rwhp/340rwtq @ 9psi ( i think i said it was 360tq sorry about that)
i see 9psi now at redline before with the stock motor i was seeing 10.5-11psi but she makes more power now so (cleaner tune)
next were doing the fuel system getting the gtm return style fuel kit and 850cc injectors and a retune with the water/meth

so the red is from the je imports tune (they were saying i was at 485rwhp but i wanted a second opinon it was more like 415) lol back then i was like wtf!!!
that was stock motor and 9lb stillen pulley

blue is hills garage tune built motor with lower compression of course and same 9lb pulley

Och my neck hurts graph sideways j/k

Congrats on having a working car not bad numbers at all for a dyno dynamics dyno

Nissan370 10-06-2012 04:22 PM

hehe sorry man was tring to get that size down and thxs just glad to be back on the road
ok smaller picture ;)

Why are you goin with the return fuel setup? I thought there were people running in the 600WHP TT range with no issues from the returnless setup we are running?

Because he dropped the compression down to 9:1... in turn you drop the compression to allow for more boost which requires more fuel and bigger injectors, to make more power safely.

11:1 at 9 psi isn't going to make the same power as 9:1 at 9psi

That twin turbo you're talking about is running a built 10:1 compression with 650cc (I believe) injectors.

Staples 10-06-2012 09:00 PM

Nice numbers and that torque curve is so sexy! :tiphat:

ANMVQ 10-07-2012 07:10 AM

good numbers man. yea the 600cc's will run out. your gonna need upgraded MAF's also.I'm sitting with my car now waiting for the truck go show up to take her to my tuners. Go with 850cc's I went with those and the uprev. MAF's you should e able to get a little more ;)

ANMVQ 10-08-2012 07:59 AM

Another thing I did not see was an upgraded heat exchanger? The Stillen on is small.

A supercharged car will always use more fuel than a turbo car because it takes power to make power . You will always have to upgrade the fuel system at s lower hp level than with a turbo car .

On my built motor with GT30 turbos I started to run out of power a little bit over 500whp. Fuel system is not something to play with better to have more than just enough.
