When he tightened back up the car was fine but now it's starting the same sh*t again. Really starting to question the ability of the STS dealer that had installed mine.

I'll second what Dreamer said. I had a hot start issue after installing my TT and Sam fixed it with a tweak to the tune. Starts like stock now.

If the next shop does not resolve the hot start issue, give Sam a call with the tuner and he can help you out so you can be running 100%.

modme 12-22-2011 05:31 PM

He doesn't have a gtm kit, doubt Sam will be able to help.

KaienZ34 12-22-2011 05:37 PM

Sam is very helpful, just because you have X kit does not mean he will hang up on you, he is here to help the community.

Alright, thanks. I'm gonna try to get into another shop tomorrow and see what they can do for me. If all else fails I can have them call him. I hoping that there shops dyno doesn't look like it was built the same as the model T was built.

Hey Tower37,

Is your car idling right after it is warm - is it managing a consistant 650 rpm idle?

If not you might have an air leak on your injectors or inlet manifold, or even MAF sensors.

if that is all good, you might want to check your cranking enrichment. What software are you using for tuning?

I'm sure it was something from the seveties. I know that I got a off and on problem with my ignition coil but that's an easy fix. The tuning cable was on a serial port. Knowing a little about the serial port cable, they haven't been used in almost 10yrs.

I would recommend that you approach Sam at GTM for Osiris software and a tuning map for your car. You can't underestimate the value of a good tune from a reliability point of view.

Sam will be able to set up the cranking enrichment for you with the editor software.

Our cars are very sensitive to cranking enrichment - especially when using larger injectors. I had the same problem and Sam helped to sort it out remotely - I am based in South Africa. Car starts perfectly every time now.

I will have to try to call them after the holidays and see if they have an idea on a good tune for my car. They guys from STS had to basically use my car a test run for the AT7 tranny. So I really don't know if we are anywhere close to what it should be at for this type of Z.
Luckly the rattle was a broken clip on the piping under the car and was an easy fix for the guys who installed the system (for free).
I tried to get it tuned yesterday but with it being last minute and so close to the holidays they didn't have the time. So no biggy it's winter and the snow is only around the corner. With my body kit on its way ,time is on my side.

With FI, the tune is the most important aspect of the build. You can make little power or a shitload, run like a champ for years or blow up the same day. It's all about the tune! CIN Motorsports in Charlotte, NC (a longass drive I know) is awesome, Bobby and Ben are a/f doctors and as good as anyone out there.

tower74 12-24-2011 09:28 PM

Yeah that would be a haul. The tuner scene here in KC is pretty much dead. Most are ricers with the fart cannons and WTF body kits. I'm hoping that the one Tuner shop in town will be able to tell me if the setup is correct and maybe STS has figured out a proper tune for the AT7. Hell that's why I'm on here, gotta go where the people know the most.
