The torque is looking great, I wonder with HFC you can get it up to 400HP without losing any torque. Thoughts?

I was expecting more, cannot lie. Its nice and all, but why wasnt the full 8 psi hit again? I mean I know you said you wanted to be safe, but wasnt 8 psi the number you advertised and have spoke about being a safe number?

I understand that, but from what I remember 8 psi was playing it safe, so 6 psi seems like total and EXTREME overkill

Have all you guy forgoten that shumby's car is a 7 AT. He is the first GTM on a 7AT. The block can take 8 psig but what about the trensmision? If he blows a tranney on the way home im sure that he would not be happy, Sam did the right thing with the 6 lb pulley. When he gets a VB and torque converter in his car it will be ok to step it up to 8 lbs of boost.
My 370z 7 At has 320rwhp with N/A modes and it very fast. It can be a hand full to drive. 380 rwhp with a lot more torque is a very fast car. Shumbys car is going to be close to high 11 to low 12. second 1/4 mile car. Thats awfull quick. Mine should be shipped to me soon. it will come with all the 8 lbs goodies, oh sam i can not wait to get it. Z |

MMC racing. Do you drive a 370 or a GTR. You have to remember that us Candians drive very fast up here in God's country. A 370z only has one speed. ( wide open). We like to drive them wide open. With that nice cold air in Shumbys province his car will make more RWHP.
i can not wait to take mine to the drag strip. " soon to be a stock GTR's worst nightmare" 11.7 here we come. 305 35 18 drag radials ( should have gone with larger tires) Sam I will be needing that 10 lb pulley !!!!!!! |
So I have heard that the 7AT is the same tranny as the Infiniti M56 and that handles well over 300 TQ, is that right?

Hey all sorry needed to take yesterday and just chill and get my wifes to do list finished up. Wow oh wow i love this SC. The car ran like a champ. 2300 miles in 24.5 hrs only stoping to gas p and buy redbull. No i did not even stop to eat. So that should speek to the drivability and endurance. I also drove through 5.5 hrs of heavy and i do mean heavy rain. No issues with the intake location so that should put some fears to rest. This thing has balls and I love it.
The Car is at the dealers right now getting a tranny flush and service. Only 3things I have notice so far. First the Camp 2 was installed and now the GPS does not work. This is a simple fix with adding a couple switches and Sam is getting the correct info for me so I can do this. Second was today when the car was up on the hoist the oil filter had come a bit loose and there was a small very small oil leak. This again is not a big deal and no a real issues in my books. The 3rd thing was that the car started very hard after hard driving and then letting it sit and heat soak. Again I just told Sam about this 20mins ago and he is getting my the reflash to take care of this so again not an issue. Over all very happy with this move and might see about getting the PSI up a bit more once i see how my tranny handels the extra power. I have a loaner G37 coupe right now and let mwe tell you it is so awsome to see how much extra power i really do have. I got in the loaner and went to step on it and it was like i was in a honda. lol Pics and vids to come. the car is really dirty right now and stoill not washed from the trip. it should be washed today will get some vids and pics tomorrow at the edmonton mini meet. |

avg over 93+ MPH for 2300 miles?

I have done it for 1200 miles so its not unheard of... i also got close to 30mpg at that speed which is unheard of.

so I hear that the tranny might not hold up on 8 psi but again isnt this the same tranny that the infiniti m56 (or whatever it is) has and that handles like 350 TQ stock, so why would we need converters and all? Right now after hearing what Stillen wanted for theirs and now the ATs not being able to do 8 psi cuz of tranny failure I might have to rethink this. If I spend this kind of money I want over 400 whp but I want it safely. I guess I will have to wait and see how others are doing.

HOld on here no one said it was not safe. It has not been tested so I was not comfotable with it. I will be moving up to the 8 PSI pully but i want to make sure. I always play things a bit on the safe time. I am not really in a hurry to get my car 100% where i want it. ( don't thtink it will ever be there to tell you the truth). This gives me time to hammer on the tranny a bit and if nothing happens bad i am going to go to the 8 PSI pully. Do not let the fact that I am going with only 6 PSI stop you from getting this. I am just a bit more slow to jump into things then most. plus I am awa alot and don't want my wife dealing with any issues with the car no matter how small. (cuz she gets really mad).
