numbers will be great and all but Im curious about how it will do as a DD and how the power comes on, like do you have to gun it to get the power or will it come on even at half WOT etc.

He didn't have a big single turbo installed, he had a supercharger installed. The extra power will come on at a very low RPM.

JB-370z 06-14-2010 08:47 AM

looks like a tank!

What's that black box on the fmic?

Dyno! Dyno! Dyno!

Z eliminator 06-16-2010 09:49 AM

Sam very nice set up.
it appears that the SC works better with stock factory back presure. The only mod that will help it is a CBE.
On my 350 z with the stillen i lost 10 with the headers and 6 rwhp with radom cats.
it lost 1.5 lb of boost on my 5 AT,
the same rules seem to apply with the 3.7 VQ.
I estimate that 's about 30 rwhp on your set up.
it looks like the cats, and maybe stillen headers will be coming off my car soon

Z.

You know I took a couple of seconds to think about your comment and wondered why you didnt find it funny. I then realized that you MUST have thought I was mentioning that the GTM kit broke or something. Well to clear that up my friend, I was actually being serious where he is going to drive the car and not update us, b/c he wants it broken in so he can floor that beast.

I meant it in a good way that he is busy wanting to put the pedal to the medal, I would too, I honestly probably would go through a tank or 2 of gas in 4 days just to break it in. (though Im not sure how smart that is, breaking in cars these days has so many different ways)

Sam, that actually brings up a question, what type of break in mileage are you thinking is suitable for the car and the parts before he can really mash on the gas????

I am glad we can all be civilized.

RCZ 06-16-2010 04:11 PM

how did you miss the fact that it was a joke....too on edge about people dissing GTM there....

Mr. Humby where are you??

nogoodname 06-16-2010 04:15 PM

He's super busy when he gets back home so have patience for a review.

Zsteve 06-16-2010 09:17 PM

Everything looks like a tight fit, I hope it all sits well and doesnt vibrate and rub anywhere. If all goes well with Shumbys I will be seriously thinking on this kit in the near future. Have we heard how much the install was?

JB-370z 06-16-2010 09:25 PM

I know with the g37 the side and top oil coolers are possible due to there being an opening for cool air to come in. With the 370 is this possible???

SAM@GTM 06-17-2010 12:35 AM

Spoke to shumby this evening, He made it safe and sound, this crazy MoFo drove 2300 miles straight home .Here is the final pics of the project with the dyno results, also i'm including some generic pics of a the Camp II HKs system, shumby had us install every sensors available for system(fuel, oil temp, oil press, boost, egt )plus all the info we get from the can bus .

Jamaica 06-17-2010 12:41 AM

I was really hoping that it would push above 400hp. Does these have the lth?

For 6 psi 7 A/T @ 91 OCT these are exponential results . couple more psi and the set up can do well over the 400 mark.

No, stock headers and Stock cats .

Sam

Jamaica 06-17-2010 01:07 AM

You dont prefer the headers on the car?

bullitt5897 06-17-2010 01:43 AM

Headers have very little back pressure and the VQ engine requires a certain amount of overlap in valave timing. With the lth there is not enough back pressure while trying to maintain the correct/ideal valve timing. Sam correct me if I am wrong here but tht is my understanding why lth are not ideal for any SC setup and this engine.

Jamaica 06-17-2010 01:47 AM

Just want to know before I actually pay for my headers.

With the LTH and VVEL there was not enough back pressure with so much valve overlap to build much boost. I think they said the S/C would only build 4 psi with LTH and CBE.

Sam, I still don't understand why the shop car made 8psi + 450whp and Shumby car is only at 6 psi + 390whp. Is it the CBE or just the tune?

Zsteve 06-17-2010 06:30 AM

is there a reason for only 6 psi? I thought the kits were suppose to run 8 psi.

John@Z1 06-17-2010 07:38 AM

All that power with stock cats. That is insane on an auto. Very nice GTM!

theDreamer 06-17-2010 08:29 AM

Congrats Shumby.

FuszNissan 06-17-2010 09:21 AM

Looks good even for a G....:stirthepot:

bullitt5897 06-17-2010 09:37 AM

yall have to remember he has an AUTO transmission and the shop car is manual. The auto transmission will not make as much RWHP. Effectively if he had a manual G it would of been over 400rwhp @ 6psi!!! that is freakin nuts!

FuszNissan 06-17-2010 09:38 AM

I am impressed with the Tq at such low boost on an AT. Great Job Sam
