It would cost him even more money but it would be a great data point in trying to answer the question of whether a too free flowing exhaust negatively effects the actual numbers when SCing.

Those are almost exclusively roots types. I'm not saying I agree, just that this rumor has been seen for years and I've even seen some manufactureres allude to a too unrestricted out flow. I can't figure out why this would be but both SC applications seem to have a occational problem when the standard exhaust was changed. Might be coincidence, might not. Just an easy way to find out as it's the most significant delta in his car.
