I'm running an AP tune, but they're really popular in the Subaru community/Forced Induction crowd, they've always been a very reliable tuning device.

I don't disagree that the software is part of the kit and therefore Stillen is at fault as it is being sold by them. I'm not trying to point any fingers, I'm trying to figure out, like everyone else, why this is going on.

I don't think Stillen is unable to tune for this kit, I think the variations from situation to situation are causing problems. (ie. Different ROMS) That's why everyone that is custom tuned has no issues...

There are definitely bugs to be ironed out and I'm glad Stillen has the resources to do so..

There are bugs to be ironed out, but I don't think it's the variability of the ROM's. My car was tuned by Stillen on Stillen's dyno and they had my car for 3 weeks. If my rom was a problem with a canned tune, they should have been able to overcome that.

My car is now in it's 3rd week at Stillen for the seoncd round of tuning (6 weeks total). I'll update you guys when I get it back.

:-)

Good luck i hope they figure your car out. I called stillen yesterday and they said they will work on my tune after they figure out yours. Yay second in line:ughdance:.

I have learned that there were differences in ROM's in the 350Z years so there could be ROM variances with the 370's. It could still be a possibility. That is kind of a long time for a company to tune the car, or is that just me?

Sounds to me like you need some cut on kit profits for continued development, i.e. guinea pig - you guys have a lot of patience

This is why I'm holding off on this kit. I don't like this tuning dilemma. I realize this may not be Stillen's fault, but maybe they should have waited on the release of the kit rather than have unimpressed customers/buyers. With the exception of RCZ...

yeah, that is a good thing you did....let the testing/bugs kinks get worked out than make your decision to do so or not...i wanted to take my sedan to the next level and now testing my patience. I am hoping this well be worth it in the end.

Update coming soon.

RCZ 08-12-2010 01:49 PM

I promise I didn't do anything different than anyone else. Installed the kit, towed over to HPL, tuned by Jack, been working right ever since. Knock on wood though. Hope you all get squared away soon.

I bet stillen gave RCZ free tug and rubs at the local massage house if he raved about his SC working perfectly :icon18:
