Save the preaching for church, brother.

Agreed ^....Glad to hear you can hang with an M5 (at the track of course you silly goose)...I was kinda hoping to hear that you spanked the M5 though and wish it wasn't so close lol.

^^ I agree its good for the forum to be against posting and supporting of street racing. But seriously guys, if a challenging car comes up next to you and tempts you to run. And you don't get the desire to blow his doors off. And if you do the biggest Sh#$ eating grin follows. All I'm saying is, lets be respectful of AK's rules. But lets not become so disconnected that the occasional blurb about a run becomes a debate on morals

A little update. I have put 700 miles on my car and things are great. Ran up against a brand new M5 and went toe to toe. It took me on launch a bit but I ran him down on the long end. Car has had no issues yet. Will have some nice pics and review in my journal soon

How much boost you're making?

Hmm. M5 is 500 hp, 4,100 pounds. How much power should it take a 3,300 lb. 370Z to equal the performance of an M5? 402 hp. That would only be about 345 whp... silimar to what you see with 05-08 Corvettes.

I've had similar problems. dyno says 421 hp. That should be around 500 hp at the engine. Then when I run a 107 mph 1/4 mile trap speed, I'm like wtf?

HP is just a number, as your all aware. Powerband, torque curve, gearing blah blah. My brothers EVO has a good 20hp less and 200lbs more than my Z currently. However, because he gets max torque so early and holds his powerband longer he can hang/pull me depending on the pull :tiphat:

I wonder if Stillen is planning on making a difference supercharger for the 370Z or upgraded one? Similar to what they did on the 350Z: stage 1, stage 2, stage 3...

e-mail i got from Kyle:
Hey Ernie,

Everything is looking great for this weekend! The guys were driving the car yesterday and everything was corrected and back to normal before lunch time. John from UPrev over the past few weeks had been working on a tool that allowed us to datalog more finite parameters of the car and using this tool we were able to identify and fix the glitch. All is good and happy now!

Thanks!

Kyle

Just uploaded the new tune to a customers car, and it fired up nicely. I will report back after we test it out a bit

I post my before and after bolt-ons on a thread in the tuning section, because I had my car tuned by technosquare and posted it to show people how the Z does with an 8,100 rpm redline. Dyno charts are in the thread (June 09) I gained 27 hp with g3 intakes, headers, cats, exhaust (stock tune). I gained 42 hp total over baseline with bolt-ons and tuning. The baseline run on the before/after supercharger was with the ECU set back to stock tune. The super charger added 108 hp and that 108 hp gain is very real and you will never, ever come close to that with bolt-ons.

It wasn't however, as much as Stillen advertised with their press car, so I forced the issue and took my car back. Unless Kyle comes up with a "the sky is falling" story, My car should be done tomorrow or next week at the latest.

There is such a huge difference between all those mods yielding 420whp and "just the supercharger and CBE" yielding 438whp...

Is there a new tune out for the SC?

Pat@SMM 09-02-2010 08:35 PM

I received an e-mail earlier today from Stillen indicating that there was a new tune available for me.
