You dont need one!! You would simply plumb a front mounted oil cooler inline into either one of the 2 large lines going to the oil filter relocation.

So, just remove one of those 2 lines, and send it to a cooler, and the cooler output back where the line originally went.

so once again, no need for a sandwich!
Sandwich plate = thermostate
you don't want to use a thermostate

Yeah but if you do it that way then the oil will be circulated through the oil cooler constantly and im most cases keeping the oil cooler then it should be. Most sandwich plates have a built in thermostat to redirect oil only when its temp gets above 180F.

if you want a thermostat... then add a thermostat! no problem guys.

Remote Oil Thermostat - -10AN Mocal Remote Oil Thermostat

im sure GTM will put together an oil cooler kit to go along with this SC kit anyway... but you can see here thats its just a matter of 2 hoses, a cooler, and that thermostat if you want one.

Thanks for the post. I never seen an inline thermostat like that, looks great.

You beat me to it, i've used that style before on other cars with great success. The other thing i'm sure a lot of people are forgetting is you should be able to mount that oil filter anywhere you like. I'm sure GTM can offer other solutions as far as the oil lines, or you could just pick up some AN fittings and move it anywhere you want. in doing that you could even run a much larger than factory filter if you felt it necessary.

As far as the filters, i thought somewhere in the other thread it was said that it was done for clearance reasons. Two smaller pipes fit and one large one didn't. Rather than just bottle neck down, they split it in two.

Great job GTM great price!! I'm really interested in this kit, I'd like to see some more testing as too how it stacks up as a daily driver kit. I have a lot of the same concerns as others, but mainly drivability, over-heating issues, and reliability. Also, what's your estimate on the time frame for Carb approval?

That is still pretty good. 8K out the door and knowing that you are now officially boosted, priceless.

Sam: If you get a chance could you answer this... Given all my mods listed below in my sig, am I just SOL as far as using any of my upgrades to go with a supercharger? I just feel like this is going to cost me a ton if I have to get some other exhaust set up, get rid of my C/A intake, and my headers... It freakin sux.... Do you guys have any easy, cost effective ways for me to make a supercharger work with the upgrades that I have?

I would like to know this as well. I'll won't be buying an FI kit for some time, although this price makes it very tempting!

Agreed. Still need to see what else is out there, plus I want to see how these systems work out with some real world use before I commit.
