Yeah, I'll do my best to figure something out.

The challenge is the sway bar, and the alternator. They take up a lot of valuable space in that area. So if I push the filter forward, I am not sure how much room I'll end up with. May need a custom filter (and I have made some inquiries about that as well).

The one thing that could potentially be gained from a different engine mount is that the oil filter could maybe stay in the OEM location. It would have to be pulled off for air filter servicing, but that isn't a big deal since it is replaced frequently enough.

I was thinking that the pipe could be ran just past the sway bar with a 90 bend and the filter would sit basically along side of the sway bar ....to change it would only require taking out the 4 bolts to the sway bar letting it drop down ,this would give access to change...also allowing the oil filter to stay in OEM location

Tried it already

That's a full 3.5" intake, but I don't like the 90 degree there. There isn't as much room there as one may think...which was disappointing.

I think a long (maybe up to 8"), 3.5" flange air filter that is about 5" outside diameter may work above the sway bar, with a different engine mount...which is what I am focusing on now.

Maybe have a 45 degree pipe bend and a filter with a 45 degree inlet ...use some of the room that your 90 degree elbow took up

Why have a bend? Couldn’t you just shorten the pipe and have it straight and not use such a long and wide filter?

Keeping it straight wouldn’t put it in a area that any filter could fit ....only real chance would be maybe longer filter ....green filter makes some longer ones that have a small OD filter so it would be like 4 inch OD and however long you could get...but it’s still a super tight fit ..if it’s even possible

With the 90 degree elbow (maybe two 45's), I'll be able to fit this filter:

https://www.knfilters.ca/search/prod...x?prod=RU-1785

That filter, when rolled out, is 15.7" x 8", so plenty big. At the same time, a 3.5" pipe, even with a 90 in it would not be considered as a restriction, considering the 68mm 1,100HP turbo only has a 2.7" compressor wheel inlet.

With a custom engine mount, there would not be a need to relocate the oil filter, so that may work out in the end. I'll build one for my own car for testing purposes. If all works well, it will be an option for customers at additional cost. The 3.5" piping with a custom engine mount isn't going to be cheap.

I also looked at removing the OEM engine mount bolted to the engine, passenger side. It looks like the exhaust manifold has to be pulled off for the aftermarket engine mount replacement. Luckly, that is the much easier one to pull off, compared to the driver side.

I’m buying Cjm solid engine mounts, will your design be similar to his so the piping will fit towards the front?

I would need to make a complete custom engine mount, tucked closer to the engine for it all to work.

I know things are tight in that area; a couple pics of the setup on a fire truck w/450hp/1250tq 9L Cummins....looks like a shark tail plumbed to the front.
1.5-2” wide maximum; but tall & inlet is to the inside portion w/screen over top...plenty of air

Last picture is of screen over inlet, after passing through to front...pics are all sideways & crap- but gives you an idea.
