Default Twin Charge

This is really open for discussion. I was thinking about it yesterday night and I figure I turn to the forums for knowledge regarding what I'm about to ask.

Would it be a good/bad idea adding a super charger and a twin turbo kit on our cars?

For example let's say a combination of Fast Intentions and the RJM super charger? Would that be a good combination? Has anyone attempted something crazy like this in here before?

Been done before, many times, on different platforms.

Typically, one would use a very large single turbo for this application, as it would provide a huge top end, where the SC cannot do it alone. The SC is left to deal with the low end, which a twin screw is very good at.

Would there be any sort of bad feedback by doing this on a 370?

I was reading up on other cars doing this, but the ones I saw online or YouTube, the car was either built for it from factory, or they threw it on a engine that looked like it had no issue supporting the two.

Could our motors be capable of doing the same?

Nothing special about the VHR motor...it is just another internal combustion engine.

By default, it is a bit harder on any engine, as the power comes on early and it just keeps going up all the way to redline.

I would do compound turbo's before I did this.

I did this on my 350Z about 6 or 7 years ago. Used the powerlab kit with a GT35 force feeding the stillen supercharger. However, I bought the turbo kit for 4K and the stillen for 2.5K. So I had under 7K in forced induction parts. IF you were to do this on this platform you would need the RJM supercharger kit (since you have to use a PD blower) that costs 11K alone. Then a turbo kit on top of that. I dont think its worth the almost 20K investment. Plus, any of these kits are going to get you into insane power levels. I did it because I started with the Stillen blower kit on the 350 and that little MP90 barely broke 350whp.

Can it be done. Sure. Would I recommend it here. No. Take all that money and build a bulletproof setup and make more than the chassis can handle.

I used to have a cobalt SS/SC and there were a few guys that did this on that platform. As Topz said, its expensive to do and tuning it properly usually seems to be a huge hassle. Would invest the 20-30k in other ways. Oddly though I do have an mp90 SC sitting my garage. Up for grabs if interested... Lol
