Fuel pressure issue

I’m sure you have a good return fuel system & wouldn’t hurt to have CJM’s hat. You should be able to maintain set fuel pressure,,,may be a faulty gauge or

You should be able to maintain set fuel pressure,,,may be a faulty gauge or too much resistance in the wiring/relay for pump,,,causing extra heat & loss of efficiency.
