Default Turbo shopping...

So before I probably get bashed for what ever reason, I would like to state that I have to experience in the realm of turbos, that is I don't know what products are good and I have never installed one on a car before. I know the basic science/mechanics behind them though. By "trade" I am an aircraft mechanic and via education I am an engineer.

No I have been looking at turbos today, more specifically at a VF39 off a subaru while I'm here at the bar. Any idea as to:
A) The performance specs and reliability of them?
B) The actual instaltions of them, ie fitting under the Z hood so to speak.

Phone is about to die so hit this thread up and I'll get back to editing it in a little.

Thanks, Genosphere.

Be the first to try a pair of these on a Z.

I'm guessing you want to piece together a lower-cost option for a turbo kit. I wouldn't use a VF39. Talk to this dude: GT-R turbos on the VQ37

Otherwise, go with a Boosted Performance kit.

The cheapest part of a twin turbo upgrade is the twin turbo kit itself. If you buy a quality kit no extra cost will be needed for it. So say a Fast Intentions TT kit is solid. An AAM kit has many bottlenecks and will need some attention depending on what you do. ETC.
