I just looked at Radiums site. They have everything I need to convert it.

Spooler 12-20-2020 09:05 PM

I just ordered the PVC replacement fittings from CJ-Motorsports, aka Phunk, to delete my PVC valves so I can dump my catch cans to atmosphere.
I have emailed Radium to see if I can get everything I need. Otherwise I will buy a new catch can that vents to atmosphere. I have my eye on a new
one.

My tuner mentioned that he saw a noticeable change in AFR when he went from a sealed catch can to one vented to atmosphere and he needed to tweak his tune. YMMV, but you've got too much into this one for me not to mention it.

Thanks, I needed that info. I have some other plans and will hold off until that retune happens. I will do the catch can upgrade at the same time.

It's always such a cool thing when I get super busy, gone for a few weeks and get to come back to reading multiple pages of content in here! haha, wife is asleep next to me in bed so can't watch the video yet, almost tempted to go in the other room :D

Let us know how the Motec goes! Will be nice to get a review of them side by side, from bull to race horse is more than likely. lol I both love and hate this thread, awesome to see, but gives me more sh1t that I tell myself I need!

Maybe so, but is sure is fun most of the time. Waiting for your car to get up and running is freaking torture.

Y'all are the main reason my Z is up and running. I was sick of spending money buying parts and not driving the damn thing. And I was worried that I'd do something dumb like buy a TT kit :rofl2:

So I offer a sincere thanks :tiphat:

Agreed! The more my car is not done the more stuff I find that I can't live without! Once she is done there will always be that one more thing to make her more better. I has been about mo better since I bought her in 2012.

The only time that you are truly done is when the wife throws your azz out the door. That happened with the first wifey. :icon14: I've been skirting around the edges with the 2nd wifey on some stuff. :rofl2: How's Dirty Harry says it. "A man got to know his limits".

If you drive around on Ignite Red in the cold weather expect a little stumble in the low rpm if you get on it. The cylinder temps need to come up. It is solved by just downshifting it to a lower gear. Just one of the little issues with E90. Pump E85 is not an issue.

Spooler 12-27-2020 10:01 PM

Just another tidbit.

Don’t forget cold start issues, with the high T word in ignite

I didn't forget, I just left it out.

I have been checking my catch cans regularly. I never got anything in the warm weather. Since it has turned cold I have been seeing it register on the drivers side catch can. When I drain it, it is mostly water with very little oil. Smells like stinky Ethanol. Yuk!!! No doubt it is pulling moisture out of the engine from the colder temps. Makes me wonder if this is what caused my first engine to blow a headgasket due to detonation because my crazy butt drives it all year long. My old setup I forgot all about the catch cans. Time to change it to atmospheric dumps.

Spooler 01-05-2021 04:16 PM

I have just about made my mind up to convert over to a SOHO catch can setup and sell my Radium catch cans. It is going to be much easier. I will have to convert my pressurized tank to Non pressurized and change the radiator cap.

Is SOHO still not selling the pressurized set up? I had to convert mine also.

Noop, I am having to convert mine also. I just ordered it. That is the only reason I didn't order it the first time.

Spooler 01-05-2021 05:43 PM

If someone wants to go in with me on the SOHO cast Intake, we can get a better deal. How much. I don't know. It depends on how many folks we can get in on it.

The only issue I have with mine is if there's any coolant in the reservoir, it get's spit out the overflow hose and all over the front of my motor.

You may have hooked it to the wrong port. Two ports, one that is the overflow from the radiator cap and the other one is the puke tube that should run down under the radiator.

It's correct. Nik at soho told me that they need to be run with just a small amount of coolant in the tank or they do that.

SeeThruHead 01-05-2021 05:51 PM

I was looking into either using the ARC combo can or the Admintuning Combo Can. The arc mostly because it looks so nice.

EDIT:

I've been looking for plenum upgrade. Not really interested in the AAM. But I was eyeing the GTR adapter. Didn't know about this SOHO version, what do you think the approx price would be?

Radium catch cans are nice. I need an atmospheric dump though. Ugg. A redo.

Yes, it needs to be under the overflow tube by a good bit for expansion.

I'm going to double check mine when I get my car back just for the hell of it. Maybe they are transposed :rofl2:

The GTR manifold conversion looses midrange power due to the long runners. No thanks on that. 3k as a single buyer. Depending on the number of people we get to go in at once it can be much less.

I’m gonna be limited on the boost with the built 7/T, as probably won’t exceed 20# :wtf2:

There are now 2 of us. If you think you want it in the future, now is the time. To make it a total of 3.

Spooler 01-05-2021 07:26 PM

There are now 3 of us together to get the SOHO Cast Intake manifold. Do we have a 4th?

Have a picture of this object?

Spooler 01-05-2021 07:56 PM

Here you go. I am looking for a aluminum manifold that doesn't loose any power over the stock manifold. It is not as astatically pleasing as the CJ Motorsports one but I do not want to cut my car and do a ton of mods to make it fit plus relocate everything else.

Spooler 01-05-2021 08:00 PM

Now we have 5 people interested. 3 for sure, two up in the air wanting to know price. I contacted the 6th and haven't heard back yet.

Spooler 01-05-2021 08:18 PM

We are now at 6, waiting on the 7th to respond. If anyone is interested, this will be a one time deal unless you can get this many people lined up all at once again.

We are now at 7, waiting for the 8th to respond. Like I said, this is a one time deal unless you can get the same amount of people later to step up.
