They have 40 engines to assemble. I hope mine makes it next week. Race season is cranking back up. Just craziness.

Spooler 05-29-2020 02:38 PM

I hope next week is the week. Guess I shall wait and see.

This is interesting. A paddle shifted sequential transmission. Just need a MOTEC M150 to run it which we can get.

Spooler 05-31-2020 11:59 AM

So I crunched the numbers on the above. Here is what I come up with. Not cheap by any means. I will continue to row my gears.

Holinger Sequential with custom bell housing, custom drive shaft. 25k
Motec M150 package. 10k
Additional programing for the M150 to run the paddle shifters? 5K?????
Paddles for the steering colmn/wheel from an automatic. No idea

This is why the CJM/Specialty Z BMW dual clutch transmission swap is going to be epic!

Hope so, because everything at our level costs a mint to do. I will continue to row my gears for as long as I can.

That is the cheap part. When I put them In the G (same paddles different trim) I got everything for $150.

Spooler 06-01-2020 09:55 PM

Short block has been assembled and the heads are on. Time for timing cover, upper and lower oil pan, water pump, and chain sets/tensioners, etc.

From the pictures Seb is posting on Instagram mine is pretty much at the same place yours is. The only difference is his five year old son is helping him build the motor so it may take a little longer.:roflpuke2:

Me too. Driving the hell out of it with my hair on fire. The crazier it is the better.

Spooler 06-04-2020 12:59 PM

ThatDudeinBlue was supposed to review the car the first of the year before it broke. He was going to drive it the same time as FastLaneDoug's. I want to see his face when he steps on it. I get more enjoyment watching that kind of stuff than driving it myself. I wonder if he will get out feeling his face like JCHammond did. LMAO.... That was classic!!!!! Every time I think about that it brings a smile to my face.

Doug's car is rowdy. I got a quick ride in it on kill @ 7XXwhp. It sorta took my breath away, and yours had well over 100whp more. I'd be feeling my face too:icon14:

Did his car have traction when you rode in it? That is the key. Not much fun to me when it is spinning. If it hooks and books, that is when it get's interesting. I am sure his tune also decreased the TQ in the lower RPM levels being he is on a stock block.

Hooked up just fine. I knew it was a party when he pulled up on those Welds and a radial, though. I think it was a ~50mph hit.

Cool deal, I was wondering if he had them on at that time.

Did you already jump my build lol.

GeauxTigers1 06-19-2020 03:15 AM

Hey!! This looks like a cool thread! Can I join?! :D

Hotrodz, happy to hear your build is moving forward!’ Finally got my clutch in and going to the shop for install 7/13!! Really curious though if anyone has heard about the ported AAM intake manifolds and if they perform better than how they come from AAM? Al Tomlinson (not sure his forum name) mentioned he was going that route and seeing what happens! Excited to hear the results but curious if you guys hear anything? I REALLY would rather install the thing if I can just get it to make even ZERO power. Lol anything but negative and I’d be happy.

Yes... At Specialty Z getting custom F.I. turbos and built block. Would have been done but I keep asking for more "work" :driving:

:hello: Hold your horses. I got that bastard on last night. The two rear bolts beat my ***. I gave up on trying to torque them and just used ugga dugga increments with a shorty ratchet.
I'm of the same train of thought as you though. Very few people have actually pressurized the system and listened to the uncomfortable sound of the manifold creaking and cracking. Once you do you can't unhear it. If I get a net gain of zero at least I know beyond a shadow of a doubt there's not a chance in hell my manifold is gonna pop open.
Seb told me to give him a WOT log to see what it's doing and we'll go from there. My guess is , It'll take some more timing and fuel.
