Elmo, is this where you posted my dyno graphs? Don't post my stuff there. I feel like I have been violated by the MyFace crowd. Dang man, I got to take a shower now.

No I didn’t post in that group.

I saw his graph posted on Instagram. It was posted by @trackdaytherapy.

So things are kept in context. The closed deck thing is not the issue with head gaskets blowing. Pretty much anyone attempting to make up to 1000whp blew their head gasket. The closed deck was thought to be a panacea for that but it still did not deal with cylinder pressures like everyone thought it would. It still not a bad thing just not the right thing to deal with the issue at hand. It may not be needed in that equation but let's face it we all look for the next best thing that will get the outcome we are looking for and it is all the rage until it's not!

Well that's my story for now and if my closed deck build fails...well I will join the others in the it was fun until it went boom club!

Seb put together your motor it’s not going to fail. But I’m
Curious to what he did with your heads

All these post I have been putting up are to help people be informed and not join the blown headgasket club. We can always keep the boost at a lower level and stay safe. That is really the big question. What level is safe. I thought I new about what that was but there is so much misinformation out there it is hard to tell. It does come down to cylinder pressure. So if you are at 11:1 compression the boost level will be much lower than someone with 9:1, 9.5:1, or 10:1. People trying to make 900hp blew their headgaskets with a closed deck block.

By the way, the cylinders will still rock with the RJM closed deck. That has been confirmed. I am not sure about the CSS. If you call and ask JWT what to do for a high HP turbo build, they will tell you to sleeve the block.

That was the big disappointment with the RJM closed deck, everyone was counting on it to handle the cylinder pressure and stop the cylinder rock. It is all about next. Hell people are driving oem motor and interals with 700whp now and that was not even considered a thing a few years ago.

That is because they have them de-tuned to reduce cylinder pressure so the rods will live. I wouldn't worry about your engine. Seb will know exactly what he can and can't do. He has done a ton of testing.

As you all know Chris F. and Brian are good friends because they did Formula Drift together when Chris lived on the east coast. Everyone knows that Chris went to a VR38 engine. The reason, he went through an engine every event when he was running the VQ37HR. They tried everything to keep the heads from lifting. His next step was to Sleeve the block with Darton MID sleeves. If you go back and look at his Instagram stories he has one driving back to the pits and the engine was rattling. His statement was, "She's tired". That is exactly what it sounds like if you pop a headgasket. So I just skipped through all that experimentation and went straight to the Darton MID sleeves. I just saw no reason to do anything else.
