Lucky!!! It is a good thing it is cheap for you as you will burn through it like burning dollar bills. I got as low as 2.5 mpg and never more than 4. You may be closer to 4 as Sebring is a long track and so you aren't shifting constantly as you would be on track that is mile to 2.5 miles long.

Sounds like you wasn't prepared for that. High fuel pressure, big injectors, WFO. Yea.........you're going to burn some corn. :rofl2:

What he said! That is the story no one tells you. Sure it is cheaper at the pump but you use more of it. I went from about 24 mpg on the with 91 octane boosted to 17. In town the difference was great about 12 to 14. I got better economy out of my 3/4 ton diesel 4x4.

Yeap, I was burning 9 gallons a day, 158miles. That E85 station loved me. I was there everyday. A full tank has a range of about 220 miles, That's it. Of coarse I was having some fun but the more fun you have the faster that needle moves down. LOL

Hey Spooler! You went closed deck this time around didn't you? Saw a message from Mike Mixon where he said, "I haven’t heard of a single issue. There are hundreds of the closed decks out there. Several running high boost applications"

This makes me a hell of a lot happier from what I've heard. I'm still paranoid AF about the head gasket blowing. Especially after what you went through so curious if y'all have heard the same. I still thought that was an unsolved mystery.

No, I went Darton MID sleeves with a good bit of tricks to improve headgasket sealing/clamping force. Talk with Seb, he can tell you what he thinks. I am not here to bad mouth anyone but that statement is false. A closed deck block will not fix the problem. You have to do more.

By the way, There are only 3- SOHO cars that have not blown headgaskets and mine. My car and the SOHO cars need more time but should be just fine. All of the other high HP cars have all popped headgaskets. SOHO and Mazworx have done their own thang for correcting the problem.

Brian at MA-Motorsports and I had a good conversation at the first of the year on which way to go after I had talked to Mark at Mazworx. I will not post the details but the next step was to do what I did, Sleeve the block. I do have a list of folks who have popped headgaskets with RJM closed deck blocks. Some of them, multiple headgaskets.

You will be waiting for a while. Since COVID19 and working from home, driving is very limited right now for me. Spend your money and take your chances.

I don't know. I can say that most folks that have popped headgaskets don't talk about it. I have been getting the back end stories about their issues. I have been up front with everyone. Nobody likes to admit they have had issues. It is not cheap to go back and fix it. I just do me and don't worry so much about the rest of it.

Spooler 09-10-2020 08:51 AM

By the way, Darton MID Sleeves are not easy to do correctly. Mark told me part of the process and I can say that it is tedious. They have to know what they are doing. Don't let just anyone sleeve your block. If you do go to someone else, if the headgasket blows, don't expect another machine shop to fix it. That motor build turns into a big old paper weight, coffee table, etc. I already know of one instance.
