Other way around. Smaller pulley means more boost.

Correct, SC = smaller pulley more PSI.

Jinxx 01-11-2016 02:48 PM

After talking with gamma about the pulley sizes and I was told the 92mm pulley is 9-10 lbs at sea level ......so depending on altitude would affect the boost pressure

Ur right, smallers is more boost,so 88mm which I think was next size offered would mean around 11 or 12 I'd imagine, wonderful if there carrying them still

tiller 01-11-2016 08:15 PM

As you can tell iam a boost newbie, usually just build na motors or race bikes but iam learning:eekdance:

Anybody here talked with guys aypt specialty z lately?trying to get ahold of somebody to discuss ecutek tuning and support

Hey are you running an oil cooler?if so what kind, also I picked up Bosch ev14 630cc injectors for a great price

I have the 25 row oil cooler from Z1 .... It seems to have drop oil temp 15-20 degrees on my daily driving ...... I haven't seen it go over 225 in 80 degree weather... that's the hottest it's been since I installed it. I'll have to check it out in the summer.
I use the evo 650cc injectors ... You should be ok with the 630cc running 10 ish psi after that you might be maxing them out ... Not sure if the limits with the injectors. Jon at Z1 told be 600cc was more than enough but I opted for 650cc per install instructions ..... And really the more I delt with Jon the more the worse it got ... Terrible customer service/lies/....tunes he sent me were awful...... He seemed great until after I paid the money then it was like pulling teeth for a response .... It's been waiting 2 weeks for a tune correction that he promised that same day .... I gave up and started looking for another tuner.

Just remember you have a stillen udp on the crank so you will make less boost than normal per supercharger pulley size. Throw your factory balancer back on.

Edit: also make sure you are very careful with the charger oil line routing and which direction you put the filter on because the rotrex chargers WILL BLOW THE **** UP if you put it in backwards as there is a check valve in the filter. Also make sure you fill it and follow the brake in exactlly per instructions or it will fail

It's a just a stillen lightweight crank pulley not under drive, but you are very observant

I installed the sc inline oil filter the way directions said, hopefully its right but I'll triple check, are you running the same kit?

i built those back in the day

Built as in installed one of your own?or milled the parts for the kits?

Sounds like your having some bad luck with z1,I had contacted them a little while back about tuning and couple other parts,I wana stick with ecutek I think, the gamma turn key comes with 600cc,the Bosch ev's seem to be rated the best for over all in town driveability from what I've read up.Got a great deal for brand new,630cc n 650cc should be good up to 600hp I'd imagine depending on tune, maybe even a little more hp's

Jinxx 01-30-2016 07:36 PM

Stage 2 comes with 650cc some use the 600cc and tune for them since they are cheaper and easier to get. I did contact gamma a few days ago and got there original tune for the kit ...it's updated from what Sam used and it has the throttle tables adjusted to get rid of the throttle lag and the fan tables are set to come on sooner as well......it seems to be doing better than the others and drives soooo much better...ill get my gauges in next week and then off to a dyno to test the tune ......fingers crossed hope it's close and I won't have to do a custom tune .....lol I'm sure I'll have to tho ....most can tunes are a little rich in the best case .....so I'm sure I'll have room to improve.

Ya seems like gammas moving along with ecutek slowly but getting there, custom tunes in your future lol,I don't have a dyno anywhere close to me so iam counting on good e tuning support, got abit of tuning knowledge myself from racing motorcycles and doing my own power commander tuning maps so hopefully it helps

Jinxx 01-31-2016 02:30 AM

I can't adjust the tunes ....only have the cable that lets me flash computer but not edit the tune ...unless there is a way to edit it on the laptop and then make the tune to flash

milled parts for the kits, made minor tune changes, worked on revisions with the engineer, and helped out with installs.

Rad is in,most of the sc oil system is in minus cooler

So after installing my boost gauge seems that I'm around 8lbs ....thought stage 2 was more ...ill be heading to the dyno soon to see what hp/tq I'm at ......kinda disappointed thought I would be around 9-10 but I guese I'll have to be happy with what I got .....car still pulls hard and even with drive roads was getting traction loss in upper gears so I can't complain to much ........hope I can hit around 460 whp with 8lbs

Ya you should be close to 500 HP depending on tune,I think you can still get next size down pulley for more boost, have you contacted them to see?don't remember if I asked you but have you upgraded you cooling system at all?getting the heat out of our engine bays is key to help with HP,especially where the sc intake is located, iam looking at siebon vented hood to go along with my csf rad and other cooling upgrades

Jinxx 02-08-2016 08:40 PM

From what I been seeing at 8 psi .. it should fall around 460 ish and with the 88lbs pulley it should be around 10 psi boost at around 480 - 500 " ish". And I haven't touched cooling other than the oil cooler .... From my understanding super chargers are not very hot under the hood and should be ok .... Turbochargers would need vented hoods bigger alum radiators and anything else you can use to cool it ......... I may be wrong tho

Get something so you can see your actual water temps. You might need a radiator since you just blocked it with an intercooler. You might be able to get away with just running less coolant and more water, and having your tuner adjust the fan turn-on temps. Just see what happens when it gets hot and you're at low speeds or sitting in traffic.

Jinxx 02-08-2016 11:39 PM

O I did get the fan speed table adjusted for he fans to come on sooner I did the fan table and the smooth throttle mapping .....drives really well but on cold mornings I get p050e code ...cold start control....and I have noticed that when starting with engine cold it dosnt rev up high till it warms up like it did before the tune adjustment ....goes to 1100 ish then comes down to 700 within 30-40 sec ...before it would jump to 1500 ish and come down to 700 after about a min ......any ideas

Did you change your plugs too the gtr ones?if not that most likely something in the tune, uprev still ?I talked to a tuner near me about the uprev tuning, nice that they can adjust the fan tables now because previous version couldent

Jinxx 02-09-2016 04:36 PM

Still stock 370z plugs ..... And with the startup idle I'm sure it's in the tune I have another tune with out throttle maps changed and it was normal .. Maybe the throttle mapping changed it and really isn't a "problem" just something I noticed and with really cold days I'll get that code ... Other than that it is really smooth.

Jinxx 02-09-2016 04:39 PM

And yes still up rev tuning I'll keep it for a while still ... Might change to ecutek when I get a smaller pulley

Let me know your numbers when you get it on the dyno

tiller 02-12-2016 08:32 PM

Hey jinxx do you remember if the pipe from lower intercooler port to the sc is on a slight angle on your kit?

Lol yea it's a tight fit right there .... I had a slight angle there and had to adjust the couplings

Ya there a bit of a pain, they don't really line up exactly straight at intercooler but I can't see that causing any issues for air flow

EVOHUNTER 02-13-2016 09:34 AM

Get some gtr plugs, and call your tuner, he can fix this easy.

He can adjust this in cold start tables in uprev.

What are the differences in plugs .... Are the plugs needed for cold start issue or can it be tuned out with stock plugs .... The car runs great no misses or stalling I wouldn't think it's a plug issue ... And I wasn't getting the code until the throttle tables were adjusted.

jwick 02-13-2016 10:52 AM

I'm shocked any kit comes without a colder set of plugs.

TopgunZ 02-13-2016 11:12 AM

They are not only better for that but safer also. Like jwick said, really all fi kits should have them.

Here's the part number for the plugs I got,dilka8a8 ,gtr plugs

Jinxx 02-13-2016 04:16 PM

Well ..... I didn't get any plugs with the kit I guess I'll plan on gtr ones when I change them out

Either did i, I ordered them from Cody at nissanraceshop.com,great to deal with

VSS370z 02-14-2016 04:35 AM

Change them as soon as you can. You shouldn't be running stock plugs with force induction!
