A/F reading 10.1 @ full throttle? Car sounds good, glad we have a video of this system now. Have fun!

tower74 11-19-2011 11:19 AM

We think the gauge is off...during the last dyno it was showing up around in the 11's and low 12's.

Chinook 11-20-2011 12:52 PM

How are you liking the methanol injection? Did you go direct port or into the intake tubes?

blackonorange 11-20-2011 01:02 PM

Chinook is your car hibernating right now ? And from inside the car towers doesn't sound raspy at all which is great

tower74 11-20-2011 11:18 PM

Well with a 1 gallon tank it goes fast on high boost. Took Edub370 for a ride and with 25 minutes of high boost it was gone. When I leave it on low boost it doesn't spray.
@ blackandorange....when the rev is at 4 grand it's hurts the old ears but otherwise the sound makes it stand out.

blackonorange 11-20-2011 11:22 PM

yes but it didnt sound raspy from what i could tell anyway did you leave your cats and headers stock ?

edub370 11-21-2011 08:38 AM

put it like this, my car with aam short tails, factory resonaters, and test pipes was about 2X louder than this sts system (not in a good way either). is it loud? yea its decently loud, but is it ear bleeding loud? not at all. i think if one was to throw a resonater on before the turbo it would be as quiet as some aftermarket systems

Yeah she's put away for the winter. His car didn't sound raspy it was only around 3800 rpm for mine, I am thinking of getting rid of the resonator and maybe trying resonated test pipes in the spring.

Yeah it's about 4 grand that it gets at little loud or when it's cold. I know you have to missing it with it put up for the winter. I travel a ton and it's like missing your girl but this one doesn't give me sh!t when I ride her hard after not seeing her for 6 weeks.

blackonorange 12-04-2011 10:32 PM

^ well said sir

Jamaica 12-04-2011 10:38 PM

We are also working with STS for a twin turbo setup instead of single. We have a shop car there getting prepped for it.

blackonorange 12-04-2011 11:47 PM

Twin turbo instead of dual? Typo ? Or what do u mean

Jamaica 12-04-2011 11:50 PM

Yes two turbos instead of one.

blackonorange 12-04-2011 11:56 PM

Do you have any info on it besides what u have already said?

tower74 12-05-2011 02:30 PM

Really...twins....hmmmm let me know what it takes to turn a single sts system into a twin. Mine has been finished for about 2 months now( single that is).

Jamaica 12-05-2011 02:51 PM

its being worked one. Goals are over 500whp 425lb of torque with a conservative tune.

blackonorange 12-05-2011 03:04 PM

Please let us know when it's done I'd love to have this for spring

tower74 12-05-2011 04:01 PM

500 on twins....I was able to get almost 450hp on the single. I still have more tuning to do on it but 50hp or even 75hp seems low. Hoping you all get 600hp.

Jamaica 12-05-2011 04:07 PM

500whp 425 torque is more like a personal goal. Especially with the torque. IF the kit gets 550whp+ then we got something. There was a custom 350z with 1000cc injectors with sts twins pushing 540whp. So its possible.

blackonorange 12-05-2011 04:58 PM

Just got off the phone with Vernon from STs extension 1 an he has no idea about the twin system .... Other then that he had great info lol so idk about this

Jamaica 12-05-2011 05:33 PM

Who said it was being installed at STS?

blackonorange 12-05-2011 05:35 PM

Ohhh so it's not a kit ? I missunderstood

blackonorange 12-05-2011 05:36 PM

"we're working with STs " " we have a shop car there now" idk I assumed I guess ?

Jamaica 12-05-2011 05:37 PM

My mistake . It's not a kit that they will be producing. We will be using there parts and system to make the twin setup.
Vernon is a great guy at STS. Great person

blackonorange 12-05-2011 06:18 PM

No problem and yes he was very helpful

tower74 12-05-2011 11:48 PM

Yeah if it wasn't for Vernon, I would still be stuck around 400hp on mine. No one had a clue on how to tune the at7 tranny. Once he got involved we got closer to what I was looking for.

needaZ 12-07-2011 02:00 AM

I have read this entire thread. Took a while, And from what I have read, the customer service at STS is absolutely horrible. Countless people have tried to get them to show us any attention and they simply do not care to. On top of that, people call them over and over and get no response. What kind of company doesn't answer calls from potential customers? A company that is poorly managed. And I don't need some second rate, overpriced, poorly designed turbo from people that do not want my business. What a disappointment. I think I would rather pull my fuel injection out and put individual throttle bodies on that mother ****** than give STS a cent of my money.

Jamaica 12-07-2011 02:02 AM

i am sorry you feel that way. this is why we have vendors to help out in the process. I personally know Vernon at STS and he is a good guy. If you ever need help just let me know.

blackonorange 12-07-2011 10:07 AM

Needaz , STs has been great to me ..... That's all I can say about the matter

tower74 12-07-2011 10:39 AM

@needaz....The problems that I had with them was only the fact that they had no true designs for the AT7 370. That being said just like jamaica had said it's the vendors that make this work. I have personally spoke to rick squires several times and not once did he never return an E-mail or a phone call. Trust me I have one one my Z and l love it, you can't find another Turbo that stands out in the crowd like STS. I guess the early conversations were before the release of the non nismo kits.

Chinook 12-07-2011 09:20 PM

I cannot say enough about the customer service I have recieved from Vernon to mark and Rick, they still contact me on a regular basis. The service from Jamaica was great as well! Now I just have to wait till winters over so i can get back on the road.

blackonorange 12-08-2011 05:57 AM

ChinOok what are you dropped on and is the turbo close to scraping?

Tein S-tech springs, the turbo is above the rear axle at the back so it should be safe, I have scraped a couple times but it was on one of the braces in the middle part of the car I have been checking and have not seen any scrape marks on any part of the exhaust

u say all this just having read information on this thread? u have never dealt with them personally but have determined they are a horrible company and don't deserve a cent of your money?? interesting....

are we also discounting the last couple of pages of people talking about succesful installs? great power results? good customer service? every company will have growing pains when first developing a product, especially one as radical as this. so unless you yourself can come out with a product that is better for the amazing price u can get the sts kit at, then please dont go trash talking a company off hearsay

I'm sure if you call them they would be willing to do something for you. At the same time I can't say for sure since I didn't install the kit myself. I know from the web page they say it's an easy install but I know that the guys that installed my cussed a lot. I'm sure it was due to the fact that there was no design form my version of the 370z.
