This is wrong, correct? The opening is facing the TB this way, is that correct?

I think those are backwards based on some old pictures of my G3 intakes and the orientation of the sensor. I can confirm for you when I get home but that'll be this evening.

As an observer this build is frustrating. Can't imagine how JWillis feels.

EVOHUNTER 12-07-2015 03:37 PM

yes, those are backwards.

And that crimp on your Maf wiring is a HUGE no no, get them to fix those ASAP.

should be soldered properly to keep your resistants at a min.

I have a feeling this will be the deal breaker, youll have her running in no time!

It looks to me that top has them the same way as the pics I took today but Evos look like they are the other way, any thoughts?

Anyone running GTR spark plugs? I don't remember where I got the idea but the shop is questioning me if they are right. I feel like I've seen lots of post about boosted cars running them but I don't remember where.

that picture is super odd, because he has them the same way you do!

Maybe this was before he modded it?!!?

I guess will wait until topz chimes in.

These are flipped. Look at the tab that seats the MAF plug to the MAF. They are turn 180deg. I really think the shop has your MAFs in backwards. I'll take a picture of mine when I get home.

FYI...I am running GTR plugs as is everyone else with a BP turbo kit.

Oddly enough backwards the voltage match but the car didn't run. We are going to try straightening the wires out and see what that does.

Make sure they use marine grade shrink wrap so its waterproof.

You can't use the Y-section from your Stillen kit without modifying the MAF housings. It is designed to "pull though", (when on the S/C intake) and by flipping it round (in your engine bay) you are trying to "push" the air in the other direction.

The only way you can get it to work is by re-drilling new holes in the MAF sensor housing to have them mounted 180 degrees to what they are now.

Also, since the Y-pipe is only 2.5", you will run out of resolution on your MAF sensors in no time.

When EVOHUNTER comes back in the spring, I'll have this system working perfectly...pushing this kit to the limit, or as far as the belts hold :).
