Same thing, they cant get the car a decent base map. I have lost faith in the tuner, the shop has reach out to Specialty Z at my request to see if we can get them involved.

I set the BOV like you told me but the tuner had them install a spring that kept it closed at idle. When I told him it was wrong he didn't want to hear is and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. We are going are own ways, I'm over him. If you don't mind I may have the shop call you tomorrow? We have tried the MAFs and SD tuning but he can't get it to even idle.

It has to be open. That guy has no idea. No wonder he can't tune it. He doesn't even know how a centri setup works.

Are your mafs in the right direction? I had screwed that up my first go. It wouldn't idle at all. Check that out for me.

We talked about that tonight and they are checking it tomorrow. We looked at it together but I was checking it against the Stillen y pipe but I realize now it should be the opposite.

I bet you that's the problem! Let me know. You can't just flip them though, but you can mod the maf housing to get it to work.

What did you need to mod?

Specialty Z is going to tune the car. They want a new 3 bar MAP sensor installed so we ordered it today. I couldn't be happier to have them involved.

Good. Seb should be able to get things straight for you.

JWillis72 11-18-2015 01:42 PM

When the kit first was installed I took it to a tuner that I really like but the car kept going into limp mode while coasting. That tuner called Seb and he said make sure they installed the piece that blocks the filter. They had not and that solved it, so I have faith in him already.

Are you now 100% sure the maf housing conductor slot faces air flow?

First installed like oem install? That won't be a problem Anymore since your blowthru vs pull.

I haven't looked but make sure the depth of mafs and angle are legit. Also check for funk or gunk on the sensor conductors. If your going map I guess this is a moot point.

Make sure your fprs is ranged also. But if your old tuner couldn't get that right then....

JWillis72 11-18-2015 08:01 PM

I had to much going on at work today to go by the shop so I don't know about the MAFs yet. I will try to go by tomorrow if I can get away. The MAP will be here tomorrow so maybe we can get her to idle. The car has been stressing me out but knowing it's being tuned right as made me a lot less worried. I can't wait to drive her again!

Snap me a pic of your maf sit rep if u want.

Thinking more about this...

Something has to be way, WAY off for this thing to not idle. It's crazy your trying to base map it with issues much less WOT tuning.

Check things like your vvel harness clips, plug clips, throttle bodies, etc...

If everything is solid, it will idle fine with the tune you had even.
