I'm going to be ordering the '15 NISMO kit in a few weeks from Juan in the vendor section for my own car and also to prototype new items. This sounds like something I can make relatively easily. If they're is enough interest you guys won't have to worry, I'll just make them. Pricing would be up in the air until I can see the original in person and see how they mount exactly. Anyways, not trying to thread jack, cheers'

Cool deal, I can't wait to see the finished product. You can kind of see how the red pieces clip in with the Z1 pic above.

Yeah no worries, I see the receiving mounts but it still is always better to have the actual insert (which I bet you know already;) but either way from the looks of that pic, I most likely will be doing a direct clone/copy of the originals and a "Race" version too. For me actions speak louder than words so lets just wait 'til I can get my hands on a set of red pieces/winglets:tiphat:

There is also no reason the CF pieces couldn't just be doubled sided taped in place?

Well, if they can be bolted on rather than double sided taped it would give the end user more security/piece of mind knowing they can't just "fly off". This is only because they would be replacement parts, not covers.

From the photoshop thread. Cooltoy working magic on my Z. The request was the new bumper CF inserts instead of DRL's and The red pieces being CF Twill pattern. I'm thinking evo-r side blades will go perfect with this fascia.

All praises be to cooltoy

my thoughts exactly!

aszyd 09-16-2014 08:29 PM

My bumper and red inserts will be delivered Thursday! I love that Z1 is in Georgia. I'll need to source the other "mounts" though. I'm debating trying to wrap CF, or just have them painted gloss black when I get the rest of the bumper done.

Any chance you might make some FRP ones as well?

And an open question to everyone: Has anyone figured out a solution for the DRL's other than buying the very expensive Nissan parts?

Could something be done using LED strips?

EDIT: Canard type inserts is a great idea!

KaienZ34 09-17-2014 02:05 PM

The places I've talked with said they need to have the bumper on hand to make or get some led's that fit.

martin82 09-17-2014 02:15 PM

If you know anyone near Los Angeles they can work on my bumper np... before I cut it all UP lol.

lesper4 09-17-2014 04:21 PM

I am checking with some friends. What about Status Autoworks in Gardena? Not sure if they do (electrical) fabrication. They do wraps and body kits.

martin82 09-17-2014 04:29 PM

Not sure if they make LED's etc but my store isnt far from there and shop also if someone does some research let me know and I am more than willing to drop off my bumper if needed

lesper4 09-17-2014 04:52 PM

There is this guy as well who did some production of lights for the RX-8. I will try and get a hold of both companies. https://www.facebook.com/pages/LEBRE...055832?sk=info

cooltoy 09-17-2014 05:19 PM

LED's in a carbon fiber setting, that would be sweet.

Nixlimited 09-17-2014 10:01 PM

Calling GaleForce for some more OEM quality parts!!

aszyd 09-18-2014 11:10 PM

Kablamo! I'll try to get a mounted pic on Saturday and update on any installation problems.

Nice! Martin when are you supposed to get your bumper? My guy lebren is interested but he needs to know where you are and how long he could have the bumper? J think he is also curious how many people are interested?

martin82 09-18-2014 11:26 PM

My bumper arrives Monday I believe, the red trim pieces haven't shipped yet. I'm in Los Angeles ask him how long he needs it for a week or two shouldn't be a problem. But I will be getting molds made of the red finishing accents as soon as I get those

We are here!! In for write up. This is top on my list atm.

lesper4 09-19-2014 01:32 AM

That looks pre painted?

KaienZ34 09-19-2014 06:15 AM

Now that someone has their hands on the bumper. Can we confrim about the undershroud, if a new one is needed or if we can reuse the ones we have?

martin82 09-19-2014 12:01 PM

The red trim is prepainted the bumper no

aszyd 09-19-2014 12:53 PM

I was busy yesterday, so I really only had time to unbox it and take that pic. I will probably be able to get more pics later tonight, if wanted. I can say that some additional hardware will be needed for the red pieces. They snap in, but there are three screw holes. At least I think they are for screws.

I will be able to get details about the undershroud when I do the test fitment this weekend.

lesper4 09-19-2014 01:25 PM

Anyone interested in the aftermarket custom fabrication DRLs?

By the way trust me, the duckbill is back there, just hard to see because of the suns reflection. ;):icon23:

Haha, doesnt look half bad! I am close to actually doing it(that's my car btw!) Did you leave the red trim pieces their original color? Doesnt look half bad they way it showed up!

Quick question before I jump on the hype train...how long is the total car compared to the older nismo version, from nose to tail? I really love the longer look of my current nismo, but am slowly falling in love with the current(especially the sides and rear!)

Think ill just OEM DRLs....I always get burned when using non oem haha!

cooltoy 09-19-2014 07:21 PM

The red portions were Photoshopped in body colour.

This is on either side of the bumper at the top edge, under the headlight. I don't recall something like this being on the base bumper. I could be wrong though.

Thanks man, repped.

Asheth 09-20-2014 02:29 PM

Awesome repped! Wonder if you can just slap this thing on with out the extras.

Aviator44 09-20-2014 05:03 PM

The bumper will probably still look good even if you left the DRLs out.

If there is interest I might look into doing brake ducts off the DRL location thoughts?

aszyd 09-20-2014 06:09 PM

Time for the good news, and the bad.

The front fender liners do not match! There are also those holes for the fender lips. Probably best to fill those in if you aren't going to install the lips.

martin82 09-20-2014 06:26 PM
