Looks good, get him to paint the black line back on the top of the bumper where it meets the trunk (it should have been masked off) or it will look funny.

Apparently there is meant to be pre applied masking tape on the top of the bumper, but mine didn't come with it either.

It's so that the black trim line from the trunk flows through the hatch area if that makes sense?

Mine didn't have the masking tape but there is a faint line on top which indicates the area to be left unpainted.

Sorry typed the previous message on my phone and it auto corrected a load of words .

You'll see what I mean when you put the lights back in.

Mine didn't have the masking tape is discussed but there was a faint line on the bumper itself distinguishing the area to be left unpainted.

Totally

Sorry. Edited my reply.

So can you verify the parts that are necessary for the rear conversion?

I'll confirm when i get the bumper back from the paint shop

From what I know it will go straight on, but there are NISMO specific wheel arches. If there's a significant gap between the stock arches and the bumper i'll get them.

You can see here that the section under the red stripe looks Grey. .or at least it does to me. Is this oem paint scheme?

Yes it is a gunmetal colour. I think the code is somewhere in this thread.

They also report the red accent color to be A15 but another user reports that it's a force/cayenne red peral, NAH code.

cooltoy 03-30-2016 10:59 AM

patabq 03-30-2016 12:32 PM

Will you do mine?

It looks like you did a two color paint job with PW and gloss black. Is that true?

cooltoy 03-30-2016 12:47 PM

Not true. It's just an illusion, the black is actually white.

COSMO 03-30-2016 01:07 PM

+1 for the LED part number..

Stock is three color, white, flat black and a grey with flecks and has no gloss black. The pic is not well lit.

Nissan badge was shaved and Nismo holes Shaved. All black is Gloss black.

Guys, i was not a fan of the 4-5 circle LED's by carbon signal or evo-r, which led's come from ebay. So unfortunately sourced my own Led from yes, Ebay. However the reviews were good and has 1 year warranty on the bulbs. I wanted a Led setup with lens, and was not about to pay 1600 at the dealer. Thats why i wens this route.

I made a template our of cardboard, for the lens and repoduced the shape out of wood, yes a thin 1/4 inch piece of craft wood. Sealed it and primed it so there should not be any swelling. Sealed,Primed, sanded, primed, and painted. I have $50 in the whole setup, and about 2 days work. Im pretty happy with the outcome.

Search on ebay for LUMEN 7.5 led and you should find it, same light ranges from $24-65 for the pair. I dont think there is a difference.

That looks really good!

I've got a set of the EVO-R DRL on my way to the UK.

My plan is to try and mount them deeper into the bumper as they sit pretty much flush then - I'm going to get the black plastic plated in plastic chrome at a place near me, finally fit some sort of clear diffuser/lens over the top so it looks more OEM and less "stuck on".

I've also got a set of "Ring - Lyra" DRL's that I purchased, I may see if I can hack these to get a better look.

those custom LEDs look sooooooo good! Props dude, great job.

patabq 03-31-2016 09:37 AM

I like the gloss black, but I would like better pics. The DRLs are great.

Gianni 03-31-2016 11:55 AM

I did gloss black as well but I wish I did all matte black.

I like the gloss black because it looks clean but I'm in the desert man and it gets dirty fast. I think matte will help a lot with keeping it looking nice.

patabq 03-31-2016 11:10 PM

Thanks. I will probably go with flat.
