Close enough.

If one can not tell the difference without using a measuring tape, paying a quarter of the price for the emblem is the way to go!

I included the price before taxes for your reference. This is the 2nd lowest I can find in SoCal. There is a dealership in Bakersfield that sells it 25$ less than listed below. I went to this one because they worked hard to find the front bumper for me. Your call on what you want to exclude for your install/mod.

You will need:
Bumper Cover
New Splash shields
Tow hook cover (5 day backorder)
4th brakelight (butt plug cover - re-used my oem)
New center lower rear brace.

You can reuse all of your hardware and you will need to reuse license plate clips and license plate lamp assembly.

What's the Center lower rear brace?

these are the part numbers I have so far

Rear Bumper HEM22-6GA0H
Rear Wheel liners (R) 76748-6GA0A
Rear Wheel liners (L) 76749-6GA0A
Tow Hook Cover, Rear Bumper 85010-6GA0A

So yeah I filled in the holes where the nismo emblem ususally goes, working on replacing the plastic grill with aluminum mesh, and played with the red trim pieces a bit

Looking good! I didn't go with EvoR LED cause the color is a bit close to 8000K.

Brooooo how much did your body shop charge to shave the emblem? I was wanting to do that :) and now that just persuaded me further.

I was considering shaving the emblem but decided to get the black "Z" emblems from EVO-R

It's coming along. I'm wondering if I should put mesh where the DRL' s usually go because I don't want to do DRL's... What does everyone think?

Say yes to the mesh.

axmea? 02-28-2016 11:16 AM

DC - here's what I did. Once painted, it'll be siliconed on the back side. I used two layers of mesh. One sheet folded in half.

Hayden_223 02-28-2016 02:38 PM

Mesh looks good! What kind is that you used?

patabq 03-01-2016 05:22 PM

Yes, what mesh? I am thinking of using the DRL holes for brake ducts. Has anyone done that?

axmea? 03-01-2016 09:18 PM

Greetings, I have all the parts for the front conversion but having some issues with the rear parts.

I talked to Nissan and they are not showing any difference for the rear splash shields between the nismo and non nismo editions. Also they are not sure what the center lower rear brace is? And I don't know either so I cant explain! Hoping someone can help me out on these two issues so I can get this project moving.

Also doing side skits...anyone know if there's any additional hardware for those?

Thank you!

No additional parts required for the side skirts, the are a direct fit.

If by centre lower rear brace you mean the part titled retainer rear bumper, lower I think its for the rear fog light.

I'm doing the rear conversion shortly once i pick the bumper up from the paint shop. I'll let you know for certain what is and isn't needed.

Hi

This is my first post although I've been lurking around and getting great tips from here for some time. I'm in the UK and I have the earlier version of the 370Z Nismo. I'm interested in converting to the later version's front bumper. I've checked this thread and I'm not sure if anyone over here has done the same thing? If so, it would be great to see a picture and hear about any issues that came up. Thanks :)

cooltoy 03-23-2016 01:28 PM

Once you pull the earlier Nismo kit of your car, the conversion is no different then what you have seen in this thread. You'll need a different under-tray as yours will not work. Unless you cut it up I guess.

sipar69 03-23-2016 01:36 PM

Thanks. Be great to see a picture if anyone has done it.

cooltoy 03-23-2016 01:50 PM

I don't think there are too many people that would convert an older Nismo to a new one.

You are the lab rat on this one.

too tall 03-23-2016 02:02 PM

That is correct. They are for the individual skirts. Right and left.

Interesting. Most UK owners seem to prefer the Mk2 shape. I prefer the rear of the Mk1 and the wheels but I like the look of the Mk2 front. If I ever bite the bullet I'll post some pictures. :)

axmea? 03-23-2016 03:09 PM

Here's an update.

Test fit the rear and will now start taping to paint with dark charcoal grey.
