Default Hood Strut Problem

So I have had my kellyefields hood struts installed for a while now. I am starting to notice that when I close my hood I am popping the rear plastic rivets on my kidney covers. Anyone run into this issue or have any suggestions for a fix?

Thanks in advance for the help all!

Did you trim the plastic lip (just behind the vertical foam seal)? Your strut cartridge may be pushing on the plastic when closed.

Picture attached. Notice the trimmed out vertical lip below the strut.
