Default Question about repainting trunk hatch

I just had a thought come into my mind - I'm looking at doing an aftermarket spoiler on my car, and that would require me removing my stock Sport spoiler, and filling in the million holes that it leaves behind.

My thought was - is it cheaper to buy a CF trunk hatch, say, the Seibon one, and just have it painted? I'm sure I can drill holes myself. Rather than removing my stock spoiler, filling holes, sanding, and then repainting.

What kind of spoiler are you looking to get? Depending on the spoiler, you might not have to fill the holes.

But if you do, the cheapest route would be to trade with a non-sport owner who wants a sport wing.

I'm honestly considering the ings+1 track spoiler. I know, it's a bit wild - but I have big plans! So all the holes would need to be filled.

And another thing about my spoiler - my entire spoiler has one large scratch from front to rear, due to my dumb self leaving the trunk open, and then closing my garage door. The garage door motor arm scratched the entire spoiler. It's not bad, and it doesn't bother me now, but it definitely needs repainting.

Trading with a non-sport same colour car would be the easiest way. But otherwise probably having your current hatch filled and painted would be cheaper than buying a CF hatch...

I'm in the process now. I added a body kit with new spoiler so I had to remove the stock spoiler and now have all the holes to get filled and painted before adding the new Seibon NS spoiler.

Just swap with someone. I did.

Put your hatch and wing in the FS thread. Took me a month or so to find a "buyer".
