Plastic dip rear diffuser

Tried to do this today, looked great until I went to remove the masking tape. Tape pulled the plastidip in several places. Basically fubar the whole thing so I pulled

Tape pulled the plastidip in several places. Basically fubar the whole thing so I pulled it all off. Any suggestions on the masking part to keep this from happening again, really liked the flat black look against the Silver of the car. Thanks Jim
