First off to remove the Emblem?
Use dental floss or fishing string and work the whole perimeter once it's loose enough pull it off, and remove the left over adhesive with goop. You could use a utility knife or exacto knife to cut the guide out or use a Dremel grinder, And grind it off. Be very carefully with whatever approach you feel comfortable with .
