Question EVO-R Fog Light Setup Question

Hi guys,

I searched through the different EVO-R fog threads and couldn't find the answer to my question.

I'm ready to buy the EVO-R fog light but, I want the following setup:

- Fog on with the headlights on (constant lead)
- Flash some times and then steady (using the 2nd lead + kahtec Blinker module).

Now my question is, how will this setup behave?, i mean the 2nd lead is for blinking and the kahtec blinker makes it blink some times the steady but, is it going to keep blinking?

This mean that i can't force the 2nd lead to blink a few times and the stay on?.

Thanks guys!

I am running the EVO-R fog light and I spliced the fog light to my rear parking lights so that it comes on when my parking or headlights are on. The brake wires can be spliced in to work EITHER solid non-flashing only or flashing only. There is no way it can be wired up as is to flash and then stay solid. I had a module for my motorcycle that you could flash program to do several types of flashing sequences, but this is not programable like that was. I would too prefer the warning flashes and then solid on, but it is not an option the way it comes out of the box. The aftermarket module I had for my bike would work, so you might want to search that direction.

You can't do flash to solid (bright) on but what you could do is find a timed relay that would activate the flash lead and then cut power after a few seconds (say you hit your brakes it would flash for 3 seconds and go back to regular dim solid). Otherwise there is no solution to your issue that I am aware of. I wanted to do something similiar and just ended up wiring it to flash in reverse.

Thanks for the suggestions!. I think that ill use the flash mode for reverse. Blinking while braking could get annoying for people behind me.

Not with the EVO-R, because it has a built in module for blinking.

It has 3 wires.

1 - Lead for constant (Dim)
1- Lead for Blinking
1 - Ground

Not with the EVO-R. You can run it solid white park lights or break lights, but not both as it is wired. I run mine to flash when braking. If those behind me are anoyed, then they can see it and that means it works.

I want to incorporate mine into a switch. Unfortunately I don't have those handy skills, will need someone to do it for me.

Check with your local DMV. In California, it should not blink more than four flashes within four seconds

You can splice one of these into the EVO-R harness and get the results you want of flashes and solid brake light. I used something similar on a bike.
