Find a better tint shop imo

Most respectable tint shops will remove the weatherstripping on the bottom of the window to allow them to bring the tint below the weatherstripping line to prevent any peeling like that. This also makes sure there is no visible line on the edge of the tint. I paid 175 for mine (3m lifetime warranty film, 30%/20%) and they used the heat gun for an extra bit of time around the bottom to ensure adhesion.

In response to your original post, yes get it done if it is bothering you...you want your Z to be perfect right?? =)

My guys took it below the gasket so that wouldn't happen. I haven't had any problems so far. I got Suntek Carbon Tint 35% all around. The Carbon won't interfere with the nav and it has a lifetime warranty.

there is a hard gasket or plastic thing right there that causes it to peel up. mine did it too and my tint guy kicked himself for not checking it. easy fix.

All you were doing was attempting to make it work and to prevent it from getting worse. They should not give you any crap over that, they would have to re-tint it anyway. Keep us posted.

Hmmm - this is all very interesting - when the tinters do my cars they always remove the entire door card and put film on the whole window glass, not just the top section - so I would never have your problem AK. Is the way yours was done standard practice in the USA? Seems like a lazy option to me.

Yes. 90% of the shops do it this way. I have yet to see a tint shop take off door panel to do tint in the US.

Sunshield has a good rep, but they are super fast, and deal in volume. I mean 5 guys work on your car, not one. So quality may not always be a priority for them

They will get your car done in 45 min though. They used 3m tint on my car.

Well see how it goes, I will keep you guys posted tomorrow after my 8:00am trip to get it fixed.

I love how the owner said "Saturday is not our Warrenty day" I laughed and said are you kidding me?

He said come at 8:00 am
