Default Interior Repair

Hi all, joined this forum a little while back when I was contemplating buying a 370, all of the talk here really helped me decide to buy one. Anyhow, about a week ago today I brought home my new red Z and sadly noticed a slight tear on the spongy part of the door inside the car just where the spongy part hits the hard frame of the door. It's really not noticeable but sadly I think the dealer actually did it when he tried to get the plastic out of the side of the door. Needless to say im not that happy but figure I can fix it. I'm attaching a picture of the small tear and wondering if anyone has an opinion on the matter. I've already emailed the dealer for his opinion and called him on it but I'm assuming I will just glue it down and put a little touch up black paint on it. Thanks, and again, this forum has been very helpful in the past in purchasing the beast, hopefully now you can be too.

Andrew

Well since you just bought the Z, you should bring it back to the dealer and have them fix it. If you mess with it they might not replace it for you.

I appreciate everyone's responses and the comment on photobucket.

Here is the link as to the best of my ability:

Also, I did contact the dealer and they're going to fix it. But if someone has an idea it could be useful down the line as our cars will only get older.

Now I need to try to upload an imagine of my car for my photo....

copy and paste the link with the tags IMG from photobucket directly to here...it should post as a pic, and the IMG tag is in already, no need to add in a pic..

I agree....Looks like dealer damage during prep or possibly during assembly. Do not try to repair it. They owe you a new panel. Don't take NO for an answer on this It's a new car afterall..

I'm happy for you as I know not all dealers and service departments are bad; there are some great ones out there.

Yeah, I know exactly what it was - it was the dealership detailers using a razor blade to cut away the plastic **** on the interior for delivery. I know, because I had to do it, and I saw many people cut improperly, nicking the interior with the blade. Good on them for replacing it, though.
