Fumoto 103 installed, quick oil change

I seen this product on TV (MotorWeek) a good while back. I finally went and ordered one. This thing is cool. Oil changes are gonna be a lot easier now.

Post Fumoto 103 installed, quick oil change

I seen this product on TV (MotorWeek) a good while back. I finally went and ordered one. This thing is cool. Oil changes are gonna be a lot easier now. The install was simple, screw out old, screw in new. For now on, if i need to change my oil, I simply turn the small chrome valve handle and the oil runs out. It's basically a small ball valve with a spring and notch locking mechanism for the handle. This locking mechanism ensures that the valve stays close, preventing accidental dumping of your oil.

Here are some pics of the new toy.

These are great. Make sure you get the clip so the lever doesn't get knocked open accidentally. I always buy the one with the hose nipple so I can drain the oil directly into a jug.

I made a deal with a guy on ebay. I ordered two for free shipping. They are about $25 a piece.

If you you take a look at the closeup pic of the valve (3rd pic) you can see the notch on the valve body. There is a small spring that pushes the handle down. You have to physically press the handle up then turn for the valve to open. There is a really small chance of anything accidentally hitting the small handle, opening the valve with the under-body skirt on.

Oh, I know how they work. It's the first mod I do to any car. Fumoto sells a little spring clip for a buck or two so you know for sure it's not coming open.

f- all this time i was draining into pan first, then funnel into a jug, left with 2 dirty pans (since i use a separate pan for the filter drip) and a funnel to clean...

where i could've just hosed it directly into the jug, one less pan to clean. :shakeshead:

only problem is... my car does not sit high enough on my ramps for a jug to sit upright under it.

I've got to lean the jug over a bit, but it mostly works.

the only jugs i keep are usually the Griots' gallon jugs or the 5qt motor oil jugs. they're kinda tall...

and i usually let it drip a good 10-15min so it would be kinda tough to hold onto that jug that long. im not sure i have anything that i can trust to hold the jug tilted sideways...

Use a shorter jug and just use two of them?
