Bottomed out and need new gas tank

Long story short, my gas tank was punctured and may need a new one. I was wondering if anyone that has a wrecked Z or knows of one in a junkyard would please let me know so I can part it out for a gas tank. Thank you

shipping is killer though, $150, so that brings it to $600

the subframe cradle is messed up as well so several hours of labor is involved on top to get to the tank

Wow, that is insane. What punctured it? I would search the site for a member that built a number of race cars and was parting out stock parts. They likely used a race fuel cell so they might have stock tanks available.

i was in the park and rolling through grass. there was a concrete stump where a lamp pole used to be, but they didn't remove the large bolts so that's what punctured it. the gas just poured out like a river. and i just filled up that day

use insurance I guess. If this was at a public event sue the village through your insurance.

Book labor is 6 or 8 hours I think, you are looking at $1400 for the job. I had it done, but it was under warranty

yea but i think thats a ways off for my man here. the rear subframe alone took nissan a day to remove and reinstall on my car..... best of luck OP

Sucks man, I'm guessing the concrete stump was hidden in the long grass? If you're deductible isn't go high maybe you should go through insurance, you never know what unknown costs could pop up.

Cossie and fuct, you guys ran into the same situation?

My deductible is $1000 so its not worth it

Update: my puncture is on the far left near the side skirt so i might be able to get away with a $85 shipped aluminum epoxy gas tank sealer kit from Caswell.i should be able to get away with not having to remove the tank so that'll save a lot of labor. The rear subframe had bottomed out before so some of the bolts are overlapping and pulled out slanted. So it'll be a major pain getting the subframe, driveshaft, exhaust, gas pump, fuel line, and pumpkin out just to get the tank out. The one time fwd woulda been great to have haha
