I use toothpicks when pulling the plasti dip within an emblem. Don't want to use something too sharp and scratch the paint.

Usually, since this was from what i can tell first started on the ClubLexus forums, but has been around for some time, I have a IS250 as well as a new z34, but i have done this numerous times.

1. Spray all coats on 4-5 (total), about 15 min apart in each pass. Ensure that you stay approx. 6in to 8in off the surface
2. Once finished, use finger to peel large area surface extras off first.

3. For minute and small crevises, use a dull pointed plastic tool - Plastic Needles from Walmart Sewing and Crafts section I found work perfect. Twist the point of your tool (plastic is best for this process) till the Excess twirls around the tip, using tweezers or needle nose pliers, grab excess and gently pull away from surface. VOILA!

PS You do not EVER want to use anything Metal or Sharp in this case on this product when removing from small areas....this will result in scratches and deep damage to the body panel in which it has been applied
if you have any questions, let me know.

I've never used a knife. If you application is right you shouldn't have to. Something pointy like a toothpick does work real well for small spaces.

Great job Carlito! Soon enough you will be doing a full dip

Has anyone tried dipping in 30-40 degree weather? I really wanna do the emblems and handles but don't think it'll come out right.

I just did a Dip on some emblems for an STI and a new Focus ST of a friend of mine and did it 25 Deg weather. LOL Cold but it worked. Just be patient and do the needed coats and it works!

I love the plasti dip on the fangs, however I have come to the conclusion it wont look as good on the 2013 > Zees.

The fang on the pre 2013 looks like one unit once plasti dipped, it wont on the later models.

Even still, I did my '14 and like the look better than OEM, subtle but nice change even on a MB...

Looking good, and yes you right it does look better than stock.

Do you think I would get away with just plasti dipping the painted area of the lower bumper or should I do the whole black area?

I did less first, but after a couple of days went back and coated the lower lip and the grill and all. of course the beauty of dip is you can pull it off if you do not like it.

Another pic.

Nice, so basically you figured it would look better if all the blacks were same match texture as the plasti dip? I think I will do the lower colored area first and see how it turns out, no doubt will end up doing what you did in the end.

I have some mat black vinyl, wondering if this would also work? I guess the pain of applying it bubble / crease free would be PITA.
