Default Rear Cargo Liner, Yes, No, or Other?

As you might have read already in this thread.....

No WeatherTech Cargo Liner Available, Please Help

I am trying to get WeatherTech (or CargoLogic) to produce a custom rear rubber "lipped" cargo mat for the Z. Since there haven't been all that many posts to the other thread, it got me thinking that maybe I'm wasting my time. It also got me to thinking just how many liners these companies would have to forecast selling in order to start making them. So, what other better place to do a poll than the forum?

Please enter the poll so we can see how many are interested, or at least, how many have already bought an alternative.

Thanks ---- Bonzo

Gee, this thread is helpful. 50 "reads" and only 4 votes??? Why do people take the time to read then not vote?

Oh well, I tried. WeatherTech will never make a liner for this car without support, and it's obvious I'm in a minority here.

Just proves my theory that 99% of this forum is about engine and body mods, and not much more.

From my point of view, I'll support you guys getting a WeatherTech cargo liner. They're very nice and work well. I've had one in all of my SUVs, including my wife's Murano. But my Z isn't an SUV. I do have the Z-logo'd rear trunk mat, and for what few things I carry back there, it cleans up nicely with our monster vacuum cleaner. Carrying some liquids that might spill? Never. I'll just take the Sierra for dirty utility transportation.

Next you guys will be wanting a trailer hitch.

i would love a rubber cargo liner to replace this carpet one. i carry stuff often in the back so this would be great i requested weathertech to make one but i wonder how many ppl it would take for them to actually consider making it...

A Weathertech cargo liner would be good. All my other vehicles have/had one.

But I'll bet someone out there has done it. I thought putting a hitch on a Pontiac Solstice was crazy, but a lot of folks have done it. And the strange thing is it's the racers who have done it. Why you ask? So they can trailer their gear and racing wheels/tires to the track. Makes sense, I just would have never "thunk" it.

I don't usually haul liquids either, but it's nice to have the security of a lipped liner to save the day. Even if it's like going to the beach and then coming home with sandy stuff, or what about grassy muddy golf shoes, or having a soft sided cooler that leaks water, the rubber lipped liners can keep the car a lot cleaner and dryer. The carpet one Nissan supplies is nice, but it's not as protective. Carpet actually promotes things to slide around more, so that's no good either. I want things staying put while I'm Zipping around corners.

Waiting for people to read and vote is perfectly cool. Why 50 people read and only 4 people vote is the question. I mean, once your in the thread, how hard is it to click one button? Especially when one of the choices is basically a "why would anyone want a stupid rubber lipped liner?" I have to assume the people not voting feel this way. Am I right?

But hey, there are more votes now. Cool.

Well, here's a pic of a 350Z trailer hitch, so it's just a matter of time...

Yeah, I agree, but I keep a couple of bungees and a motorcycle cargo net around. Hook 'em to the 4 anchor points and it keeps that stuff from sliding around.
