I bought brand new handles from FBnissan, and had them painted there at the dealer before shipping. There are not any areas that are still silver. EVERYTHING was sprayed.

This is an ancient post but your nissan dealer was able to paint your door handles there? How much did that run you for the pair?

My body shop guy said something similar to this when I told him I wanted to paint the door handles.

Seems so many people have done this and I would be surprised that people would go ahead with this mod if that was truly the case.

I've read through threads on the subject and haven't seen many people stating they had a problem.

It's mid 2017 - has anyone who painted there door handles in the past had any issues and regret it ?

I did a DIY on painting the door handles a while back & haven't had any problems with them at all. If it is done correctly they will last.

You might want to check out my DIY here DIY: Door handles (disassemble, paint, reassemble & swap out)

If you would like to see some present day photos of the handles, let me know.

I am a few years into my handles being painted and they look like they did the day they were painted.

Nope, sprayed mine myself using properly autobody grade materials and haven't had a problem whatsoever. Sounds like he just doesn't want to do it.

I've had mine color matched for years without an issue. That body shop doesn't know how to paint if they think all painted door handles will fade. There are thousands of cars that come from the factory with painted handles.
