Default OEM shift knob removal (SEARCHED)

thread from the dead, was just really happy to do my first mod on my car yesterday, stock knob still in perfect condition (wrapped it in about 12 layers of duck tape). Was reading this thread over and over again for a few weeks while waiting for my knob to come in. Got rid of the boot gap by wrapping duck tape below the boot on the shaft until the boot day perfectly in the right place.
Used the channel lock wrench for the shaft and a strap wrench for the knob.
