The Doctor Colorchip system works but is way overpriced IMO. Also the stupid instructions suggestion to dab on the paint and then smear it flat with your thumb while wearing the supplied rubber glove didn't work. I used an old credit car that I thinned the edge on so it works like a squeegee to bring the paint down to the level of the surface around the chip. It does take some practice to blend it with the other liquid that is supplied but I got fairly good results with tiny chips. One chip at the rear of the rocker panel about 10mm x 3mm and deep enough to show the dark primer took several applications and is more noticeable but you have to be on your hands and knees to see it so it's not as big of a deal as it would be on a door or hood for example.

Get your color code from the sticker on your driver's side door jam... It will say Color under the VIN and then below that it will have a code consisting of one letter and one number... for example mine is Platinum Graphite and the code is K51. Call the dealer and order it from them. So they dont screw you on price, say you called about a week ago and that you want to buy it now, forgot the exact price and who you talked to, but that is was 10 bucks or something. They should charge you $10.88.

Now do whatever you want with the paint!

before you order dr. color chip, check out automotivetouchup. I tried both dr color chip and had better results with automotivetouchup.

dr color chip seems and is packaged like quality but the paint just didn't match up as well as automotivetouchup did for me.

Any auto body shop can mix it up very quickly just tell them the paint code (QAB same as mine)they can do it while you wait and if it is a good shop they probably won't charge you.

Does the factory paint pen have clear coat built in? Does Dr. Colorchip?
