Remote Hatch Opener

I was browsing CourtesyParts.com and came across a rear 'trunk' opening switch. I've attached the schematic below. Interesting...anyone think they can install it?

I'd like to be able to open the hatch from the inside w/o getting out of the car. Especially when somebody else wants to put something into or take something out of the hatch.
I wonder if you could use the empty center console switch?
Good find!!

that's a motorized hatch like a minivan's rear gate? if so, that's kinda cool.

but that just looks like a lock release...(?)

Yes, it's an interior release. I've often had people ask me to 'pop the back' and there is no way to do it without getting out of the car. This would potentially solve that problem.

There's some people out there that struggle to figure out things like that. I think this button would be pretty cool for when I have one of those people in my passenger seat.

Passengers or people who are unfamiliar with the Z's rubber booted horizontal button location and usage, have to find it first, so I'm onboard for the behind-the-glovebox-door-fascia button.

i have the remote hatch release. i had them do whatever they had to do when i had my viper alarm installed. at first i was like now i never use it. you don't need the key to open the trunk as long as the doors are unlocked. but yes, its possible.

This is one of those parts that should have come installed from the factory. Every time someone wants to put something in the hatch, it's a debacle.

I think the fog light should illuminate an up arrow with the words, 'open trunk here' then just when people are like 'can you open the trnk, you press the brake pedal, and BAM, take that.

or you can tell whoever it is where thr trunk release button is as soon as they get in the car, and then when they ask you to open the trunk, you refuse to tell them citing the fact that they already know. or the fog light idea, but this time with the words 'this car should have come with a trunk release button from inside the car, but it didn't. the button is above the lisence plate... NO not the big one, the flat rectangular one.' I think that would fit
