I hope a reputable company comes out with a direct bolt if it's even possible. I them installed on my G35 and they are really nice. I tend to do a lot under the hood so they come in handy. But $100 bucks for shocks that were not even designed for our Z is a bit to much $$ IMO. I think I paid $50 bucks for the ones on my G and they bolted right up. Good luck to all

Thanks for the info. I will take a look at E-bay and see if there is something available and if I can't find anything I will make my own.

You can buy the parts for about $40 at: McMaster-Carr Page 1186
Scroll up a page or 2 for the ball connectors

We think it's an 80lb cylinder. 18" if you install it like my DIY

Thanks for the info. I can make the barckets out of 16 gage stainless and I will need to know the approx. weight of the hood so that I can get the correct weight ratio shocks. If I get shock that are rated for too heavy wheight then I could have problems with the hood not closing properly

Default Hood Strut

Just received the carbon-fiber model of the hood damper and have encountered the same problems. One bolt doesn't seem to be enough to keep the bracket from being pushed forward and the hood appears to be slightly bowed up. Looking for a solution other than stripping the factory bolt trying to tighten it to the n'th degree...
