February Update:
The first prototype "GTR MFD Converter" board is assembled, wired and programmed! The first program simply provides the required CAN bus data to make the gauges count from 70 to 120, and then repeat over and over. This is to verify that the reverse engineering of the gauges is correct... and I'm happy to report it is!! Note: Look at the coolant temp (top left), once the temp reached 110C (230F), the entire gauge arc/line turned red... Kind of neat! Next Steps: Program the device to read the G37/370 CAN bus data stream, converter the data and send it to the GTR gauges. I hope to have this done in the next week or so... I just hope it works like I think it should!

Very cool. Always wished Nissan had done this, at least for the 2015 update.
Do any of these have Android auto? I thought about trying to Frankenstein an Altima or Maxima that had them, I believe... |

Working GTR gauges in the G37!!!
Today was the first in car test of the GTR MFD CAN translator. It is small device that plugs into the OBD port, and allows 27/28 of the GTR gauges to work on the G37.* The*one gauge that doesn't work is the "acceleration / braking g sensor", as the G37/370 doesn't have one. I'll look into this once everything else is done. I did a little extra work to make the (transmission) "Gear" screen/animation work. That's all for now! https://youtu.be/xOQb0zVmMBg (To bad the video won't show/play in the post... It used to work with the YOUTUBE tags) |

Quick question:
What was the first year the 370 had a USB port and what option did it require? [update] From what I saw in the FSMs, it looks like 2010 with Nav has the USB port. Is this accurate? Last edited by MotorvateDIY; 03-06-2023 at 11:49 AM. |

[QUOTE=370Cal;4036202]In AUS my 2010 Z doesn’t have the USB slot, only the RCA
My AU 2012 does have the USB connection in the centre console. Been using it for various things for ages. |

Mid March Update:
In the first version of the code, I was sending data to the gauges 2x per second which resulted in sluggish gauges. Now the gauges get data 10x per second and the gauges respond almost instantly! I've been adding some additional features. For example, if the throttle is 80% or more, the display will automatically switch to the gauges screen. I'm not sure if this is a useful feature or just irritating to always have to switch back. Road testing will give me an idea of how useful this is. Anyways, I hope to have an update video out by the end of the week and will show all. In the meantime, here is a picture from a road test yesterday:

Just like you are used to the Florida heat, people in Toronto (or Canada in general) are used to below freezing temps during winter. Also, just incase you missed it, the temp is -1C is about 30F, so not far off your 40F
