Exclamation RED Morimoto / Torqen tail lights

EU supplier (torqen.uk) has kindly provided these pictures when I inquired about the RED / SMOKED option
on their site.

I really like these, even though they're a bit pricey, but such an upgrade over the stock ones.

Morimoto's official site does not have the RED option, which is strange.

They can secure it for you if you want to buy from morimoto. Send them a quick note. SOCALZ had a pre-sale at a decent price.

I like the red lens. Maybe these are going on in the future...

Is that outer light portion functional? IE: is it part of the turn signal pattern? If not, I would think it wouldn't/shouldn't be too hard to disable that one LED for a cleaner look... :Headscratch:

some folks speculated it was necessary for DOT compliance but . . .i don't even think the stock lights have a light there. The stock lights have lights further inboard on the lower strip

odd

i'm waiting for them to come out and then plan to talk to YuniqueLED or Houston halos about what it would take to modify that area

So there's definitely a light on the side. Here's a pic for comparison.

I agree, it could have been designed better on the Morimotos.

ah, so there is

but i believe it's not just one bulb - there's actually a series of functional bulbs that go from outside inward

EDIT:
so i DM'd HoustonHalos on instagram and asked about modifying the headlights. They have a couple extra units coming in and it sounds like adding LEDs' along the bottom and re-wiring it would be no big deal. Waiting for pricing estimates

Hmm red didn't realize they made them in that color. I think I still like the smoked color better. Don't get me wrong the red is nice and matches the OEM look but I think the smoked look is cleaner and more modern. I bought a pre order for smoked ones from concept z

And here they are installed on the car! Fitment is alright, helps if you put a few washers on under the bracket on the upper bolt.

I am in the camp that kinda likes it over the original tint Morimoto tails, but I'm still more in favor of the OEM tails.

The "stacked" projectors made more sense to me for headlights. On taillights it looks too aftermarket for my tastes. Overall I'd just be after reducing the clear portions of the OEM ones.
