Took off the glove box and purchased:
LEXUS ES330 AIR CABIN FILTER 2004 2005 2006 ES 330 NEW! : eBay Motors (item 350303997198 end time Feb-10-10 12:02:51 PST) There are exactly 7 screws for the glove box. And yes, have to "pull hard" to get it off. Grab the bottom of the glove box and pull it towards the seat. You will first get the bottom out and then pull from the right side to get the top part out. Just my 2 cents. Will confirm when the filter arrives that it fits. |

Yep, us parts guys just love owners like this. Profit, profit, profit. (and really no useful reason) |
Glad to see some of you jumping in and buying filter(s), is there any standard size or anything I can look at picking up if I drop into an auto store this week(end)?
|
Oh, btw, if you're going to flame me for the "no reason" comment.... just think of this senario:
What if, this summer, you decide it's time to change that dirty, filthy filter under your glovebox. And, lets say, you break the glovebox removing it. Because it just "doesn't come off like it did the first time". Now what...? Bet 'ya wish you hadn't installed the damn thing in the first place. |

Sorry, I was speaking to the 2009 crowd. It's not in that year.

And a good point for all attempting this!!! Be careful, not to break or over tighten the screws.... |
I think the following cabin filters should fit: Bosch #P3785, Fram # CF10157, Purolator
#C35479, and WIX #24883. The size should be about 8.5" by 8.5" by 0.7". |
$10 expense... 5 mins of time... for a $50K car....mm...why not?
|
Is the HVAC system the same in the 2010 as the 2009? The reason I ask is I assume you guys checked to see if the 2009 system can handle the increased back pressure through the filter and still heat and cool the car adequately??
