I think the tails will depend on the rest of car. If you have aggressive aero, unique lights like this will make sense A stockish car probably will not work

A stockish car probably will not work as well EDIT: thinking out loud - wrapping some or all of the taillight in red vinyl probably makes it stick out less but retains the look of those parallel LED strips
