Ordered mine a few months ago from theretrofitsource.com, they are telling me shipping is going to be April 30th! So pumped to get these!

Rusty 04-01-2020 02:22 PM

If they are made in China, or any parts are. You might not be getting them for a while.

TacoSport10 04-01-2020 02:37 PM

Last I heard the middle of March they were still on track with end of March shipment of first pre-orders. Here we are first of April and no updates. Hoping to see shipment confirmation any day now, but being realistic and not expecting them this month either.

They're supposedly made in Taiwan, not sure about any of the components for them though

TacoSport10 04-02-2020 01:21 PM

I emailed Z1 this morning where I ordered the first pre-order. Here is their response:

Unfortunately there is a Delay at this time due to COVID. the ETA is a TBD at this time. WE may have further information and an update in a couple of weeks.

So who knows how long it will be.

In other words. They're still on the dock waiting to be loaded.

Ventruck 04-05-2020 01:59 PM

I can't be mad. I don't even have a space available for me to work on the car right now since the garage is stuffed.

TacoSport10 04-08-2020 11:33 AM

Got my email from Z1 today with tracking number through FedEX. Won't give me an ETA yet, probably have to wait 24 hours or so. But they are on their way!

And they are shipping from GA. I feared they would be shipping direct from Asia. Expected delivery is this Friday!

You give me a white Nismo and I’ll make that happen. :rofl2:

zpwrgirl 04-09-2020 07:26 AM

I really would like to get these, but I suppose I'll just get the lip kit I've been eyeballing for a while first.

Anyone that is getting these needs to post an update once installed and let us all k bk omw how they are.

Skrew 04-09-2020 08:20 AM

It looks like those of us who pre-ordered the 2nd batch are pushed out now from mid-April to mid-May. Can't wait! You lucky first batchers please post up the pics. We're all waiting in anticipation of your installs and box openings. Queue the drool.

Quick tip, leave the middle sized connector unplugged to get the sequential turn signal to work. Also, it comes with a harness that connects to battery and runs a single wire to one connector on each headlight. I unplugged those while trying to figure out the turn signal and they didn’t seem to do a thing.

please keep the information coming, and lots of pics please.

TacoSport10 04-10-2020 09:09 PM

I will. We lost power for a couple of hours here. Got power back but tv/internet have been down since 4pm or so. I got everything done, but I have terrible cell service. Will update with pictures tomorrow hopefully.

Since you have the battery terminal harness, you didn't have to deal with the fuse box as the original instructions indicated, correct?

Where did you see instructions? I haven’t seen any online nor did the box contain any. Maybe I overlooked them.

I ran that harness and left it plugged in, but when I disconnected it, I didn’t see where it changed anything.

Just saw a link on the YouTube video comments with the instructions. Yes, mine had terminals for battery/chassis so I didn’t have to worry about the fuse box.

eastwest2300 04-11-2020 08:47 AM

I just bought my set..:rock:

excited would be an understatement.

I have to play around with it today to see if I can figure out what it's for as well.

The little sheet just showed where you are supposed to find install guide, but since the 370 headlights are not on the Morimoto site, there isn't much to find.

I looked at the F150 and C6 Corvette guides to try and figure out what it could be for. Those both use the fuse box instead of battery for their extra harness. Both list that it is for the daytime running light. Having that smaller plug disconnected is how they show it for the sequential turn signal. Connected is for standard blinking.

The extra harness is probably for the drl. I dont currently have both lights in and only tested the one Morimoto light with the headlights on, then high beam on and checked if blinker worked.

Comment in YouTube video led me to “the retrofit source” website. They have the install guide

I followed up with The Retrofit Source and they confirmed we skip steps 16-22, since there will be a provided harness that directly connects to our battery terminal, rather than the fuse box.

Those look good man! Someone in my area has them. I'll have to bother him when the quarantine is lifted.

admittedly I'm enjoying my hipsterism too much going back to 4500K HIDs (they look like halogens next to my WRX's OEM LEDs if we are honest)

Hopefully this works but I added some pictures of before, during and after the install. It was very straight forward and simple to do. The kit does come with a wiring harness that you do not need (at least I didn't).

The first video shows the turn signals with the connector in the back hooked up to where it is a solid turn signal and the second video I unplugged it to make it sequential. Overall satisfied with the lights and prefer them much more than the '09-'14 stock headlights.

Finished mine earlier today so no night shots yet.

The car is filthy as it seems to rain about every other day.

Also swapped to red center caps. Now I need to get to swapping out my brakes.

The headlights look super dope, gives the 370z a more modern look. Are they brighter then the stock HID's?

I had to use that harness to get the brighter DRL to work. That LED strip works dimmer when the lights are on, but the harness was needed when the lights are off for the DRL. I actually had the 6A fuse blow in that harness and noticed my DRL’s not working. Replaced the fuse and took it for another hour ride or so. Maybe that fuse was weak or something. I did have to use a 7.5A as I could not find a 6A at the auto store.

Also, I noticed in your video that with the sequential turn signal the first time the LED’s only goes 1/4 the way up. Mine does the same thing.

To clarify, the DRL you're talking about is the one built into the headlight, not the OEM DRL?

Correct, the Morimoto headlights have a DRL strip that’s very bright when the headlights are off. That’s what the additional harness is for. When the headlights turn on, that led strip, maybe another one in the same area, turns on and is a little less bright for nighttime.
