Default Shifter trim blank button

I'd like to install a usb charger into the blank. If I ruin my existing blank trying to machine a usb port into it, I'd like to know where there's a replacement without having to buy the whole shifter trim which is about $80.

I know a usb is available for my center console blanks, but I'm already using those positions for heated seating and reverse camera.

Has anyone ever had any luck finding just the little blank insert? Or even better, a usb port that can plug in there? Or a circular usb port that I can machine into there?

Youd have to check the sizes but a round usb panel might work. would be easy to drill a hole and plop it down in it.

My first thought would be a junkyard. I really couldnt see how that button could get damaged in a crash, so it should he ripe for the picking.

Alternatively, if you get a long enough cord, it's very easy to run cables from the passenger cig lighter under the plastics wherever you might need them.

Good idea but my forward fog lights button lives there.

hello, just checking in on this old thread to see if anyone has a good solution for the blank trim button on the AT shifter trim.

I happened to ruin my by drilling through it for a failed project, now it looks so ugly.

I can buy a whole shifter trim for $40 now, but I'm looking around to see if anyone has a nice solution to perhaps save my drilled through button or buy something to replace it.
