Seat Belt Removal and AirBag Sensor

I want to remove my stock seat belts, while keeping my stock seats (and all seat airbags fully functional).

What do I do with the Airbag sensor connected to the pretensioner to prevent a warning (and keep seat airbags working properly)?

I searched and the only relevant post I found (from 2010) wasn't very clear.

Why not use a seatbelt plug similar to this:

Wrong sensor. This is the one I mean:

The yellow cable, when I remove that tensioner, I'm guessing I'll get some kind of airbag related warning.

I just posted this same topic from my cell and did not see your post asking the same question.

I checked this connection with a multimeter and it read 2.3 to 2.4ohms. The closest ohm resistor I could find was a 2.5ohm 5watt capacity which I tried and it didn't work.

Hoping someone has already found the solution.

Another solution I was thinking was leaving the retractors in, and tuck the seat belts behind the plastic, maybe using a zip tie or two.

Somewhere on the retractor is a switch that makes when the belt has been pulled out. The FSM will have details.

I'm guessing all you have to do is unplug one of the connectors on the retractor and short two of the wires. But cars are pretty smart nowadays and it may look for an off-to-on transition. FSM should tell you.

This link you found does explain how to resolve the airbag sensor under the seat and the sensor that detects the seatbelt has been latched.

It does not offer a solution to the seatbelt pre-tension sensor which should have a different and specific ohm resistor so it thinks it is plugged in.

Hopefully someone knows.
