What year did they transition the hinge to the pedestrian safety system. What really does that safety pedestrian system really do? Sounds like you might be s.o.l and kinda forced

What year did they transition the hinge to the pedestrian safety system. What really does that safety pedestrian system really do? Sounds like you might be s.o.l and kinda forced to buy the hinge's. If not return for your refund. Bummer bro.
