Z1 hood struts and pop-up hood

Hey guys, I bought z1 hood struts and today I noticed my hood is equipped with the pedestrian safety system. My question is if it's possible to install them somehow without spending over a hundred $ to replace the hood hinges?

Did you ask Z1?

Are the mountings different?

Could you post pics of the system? Just to ease my curiosity

Yes, they told me to buy US OEM hood hinges that are 50$ for each side.

What year did they transition the hinge to the pedestrian safety system. What really does that safety pedestrian system really do? Sounds like you might be s.o.l and kinda forced to buy the hinge's. If not return for your refund. Bummer bro.
